Live @ Cafe Drummonds:
GIG REVIEW
Aberdeen Tunnels, 28th March 2008. Supporting The Whip.
Its no understatement to say that I had been looking forward to this gig all week. What I didn't expect was that I'd also have the pleasure of being introduced to Vesuvian for the first time. I don't think it would be unkind to say that they sound like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with largely an image to match, but quite frankly it's a little lazy. Their set up of twin guitars, bass and drums belies the monsterous noise they manage to create. It's not until thier third track however that they really hit their stride - if Alan McGee heard them he would explode and possibly hail them as the next big thing. It's that kind of band, and a rare breed indeed - an Aberdonian band worth watching out for in the future.
