North West bluegrass upstarts!

About Me

Formed during the Ullapool Beer Festival in September '05, we somehow managed to simultaneously taste all 36 beers and play goodness knows how long - memories are a bit shady now. We've all been playing for years 'n' years 'n' years but when that Coen brothers movie came along (Oh Brother...) we suddenly didn't want to play trad any more.So the fiddler started singing, the guitarist started bassing 'n' singing, the drummer bought an accordion, the mandolin man started getting shifty and we all went out and bought hats (and some bought pointy shoes too!). Later on, Steve brought rhythm guitar to the mix and when Terry Kelly, the mandolin man went his own way, Tony 'Southpaw' Bennett stepped in with banjo, mandolin and mandola,- all pointing the wrong way.We all live and work in Ullapool in the North-West Highlands of Scotland, described by locals as 'a small drinking village with a big fishing problem'..........."i saw you guys a year ago and you were shite, but you're really good now".... Gerry, Creelman and aspiring Actor, Ullapool..........."don't take this the wrong way but, don't loose your rough bits, it's what makes you guys"....Dave dunnit, regular, Strathcarron Hotel.
