Born in Glasgow in 1983, singer/songwriter Emma Jane showed an interest in music from an early age, writing her first song at the age of 9.
Although Emma Jane was writing material, it didn't get much further than this, until 2003 when she taught herself the guitar using a chord sheet, she printed off of the internet. Emma Jane was then able to accompany her lyrics with music.
By 2004 Emma Jane, was writing, and recording her songs using her home computer and some studio software.
In December of 2005 Emma Jane played her very first live gig in The Mixing Rooms, owned by the well known Scottish songwriter John McLaughlin.
. This was a first for both the artist and the venue. The Mixing Rooms was a new live venue in Glasgow and featured Emma Jane as there first live performer.
After that she got the gig bug and has and has continued to play there amongst other venues .
In 2006 Emma Jane had not only made an impression in Glasgow, she caused quite a stir in other places such as Falkirk, Inverness, Edinburgh & London.
In October 2006 Emma JaneWon the Acoustic Showcase Final which took place in the popular Behind the Wall venue in Falkirk, winning herself a FENDER CD-110E BLK guitar.
In December 2006, Emma had also gained a place in the Emergenza Acoustic Showcase, and was runner-up in theScottish Final ,which was held in Favela, Merchant City, Glasgow.
In 2008, Emma Jane teamed up with El Trio Loco , and are now gigging in and around Glasgow. Watch out for dates!
