My current WIP, V3: Vows, Voices & Voodoo --
In V3: Vows, Voices & Voodoo,, Jessa Torrence , single mom, cupcake connoisseur, and Piper Halliwell addict, attends the wedding of an ex-boyfriend, Brian, and gets more than just cheap champagne, chafed thighs and candy-coated almond favors. She collides with a sexy usher, Damon Santiago , who caresses her libido one moment then brushes her aside the next , watches the aftermath of an angry wedding crasher and finds a dead body. What more could the day hold? Oh, let’s not forget those pesky voices from the beyond.
Hearing voices and sounds her entire life, she always felt like a freak, and all she longs for is a normal, routine existence for her and four-year-old Maia. Only family knows her of gift, which her Aunt Cara calls clairaudience. Giving it a name doesn’t make it any less crazy though.
When she hears the voice say: obsession and love, at Brian's wedding, she thinks nothing of it. Innocent enough words. When Brian’s baby sister, Nicole becomes desperate in proving big brother innocent, Jessa volunteers then wonders what the heck she's doing. She only read Nancy Drew, never lived it. Playing junior detective is way out of her league, even if her boss does it on a daily basis. But inexperience only means: ENLIST HELP.
With her best friends Jackie and Heather (and Aunt Cara's undoubtable wisdom), she begins her investigation. Damon isn’t pleased when he learns of her involvement, but who is he to dictate what she does in her off time. As her suspect list grows (confessions, drugs and babies, oh my), she is desperate to discover the killer and get back to her normal routine. Leaning on Damon seems to be the only way to stay alive, but can she keep the voices a secret? Together they get closer to the truth -- a truth that opens her eyes to a world she never knew existed.
Maybe being different isn't so bad after all!
