About Me

Hello, I am a writer of paranormal, chick lit mysteries.
My current WIP, V3: Vows, Voices & Voodoo --
In V3: Vows, Voices & Voodoo,, Jessa Torrence , single mom, cupcake connoisseur, and Piper Halliwell addict, attends the wedding of an ex-boyfriend, Brian, and gets more than just cheap champagne, chafed thighs and candy-coated almond favors. She collides with a sexy usher, Damon Santiago , who caresses her libido one moment then brushes her aside the next , watches the aftermath of an angry wedding crasher and finds a dead body. What more could the day hold? Oh, let’s not forget those pesky voices from the beyond.
Hearing voices and sounds her entire life, she always felt like a freak, and all she longs for is a normal, routine existence for her and four-year-old Maia. Only family knows her of gift, which her Aunt Cara calls clairaudience. Giving it a name doesn’t make it any less crazy though.
When she hears the voice say: obsession and love, at Brian's wedding, she thinks nothing of it. Innocent enough words. When Brian’s baby sister, Nicole becomes desperate in proving big brother innocent, Jessa volunteers then wonders what the heck she's doing. She only read Nancy Drew, never lived it. Playing junior detective is way out of her league, even if her boss does it on a daily basis. But inexperience only means: ENLIST HELP.
With her best friends Jackie and Heather (and Aunt Cara's undoubtable wisdom), she begins her investigation. Damon isn’t pleased when he learns of her involvement, but who is he to dictate what she does in her off time. As her suspect list grows (confessions, drugs and babies, oh my), she is desperate to discover the killer and get back to her normal routine. Leaning on Damon seems to be the only way to stay alive, but can she keep the voices a secret? Together they get closer to the truth -- a truth that opens her eyes to a world she never knew existed.
Maybe being different isn't so bad after all!

My Interests

I have an intense passion for cooking. I detest eating the same thing daily, so I love to experiment. My favorite cuisine is Chinese; I can eat that daily but a different dish every time. I also love Mexican, Italian (although I grew up on that), some Spanish and Greek. Yum!!!

I am a huge Sims 2 fan. I upload custom content like a fool, because the stuff Maxis gives us is pretty crappy, and spend countless hours with my families. I can stay away from the game for months, but when that urge strikes, I usually become enthralled for a good chunk of time. 2-3 days is my usual haul.

My interests in the supernatural, suspense and mysteries began as a small child. My mother is a huge mystery and supernatural fan, so she started my curiosity. Horror movies were common in my home, back when horror movies were meant to scare and not simply disgust. My taste hasn't changed through the years. I still prefer a psychological thriller over a slasher. As common as they have become, I love (fiction only) serial killers and the thrill of their depravity. Does that tell more than I'd like about my own psyche? LOL

I'd like to meet:

Dean Koontz, Tami Hoag, James Patterson, writers, lovers of suspense and things that go bump in the night, readers, law enforcement (can I pick your brain?), and publishers/editors.

Music:

My tastes are pretty diverse usually. Right now I am enjoying Ashlee Simpson, Kelly Clarkson, Michelle Branch, Nelly Furtado, Nickelback, Christina Aguilera, Fergie, Gwen Stefani, Beyonce and more... I tend to prefer individual songs over artists or genres in general.

Movies:

I prefer the movies from the 70s: The Omen trilogy, Exorcist, and Carrie.

But I also love: Thelma and Louise -- it makes me cry every time, Kiss The Girls -- love Morgan Freedman and Ashley Judd, The Devil's Advocate, Stir of Echoes... and many more!

Television:

My favorite television includes: Law & Order SVU, The Closer, Medium, Heroes and Grey's Anatomy.

Books:

A huge fan of suspense and horror, my favorites are: Night Sins by Tami Hoag, Whispers by Dean Koontz, Kiss The Girls by James Patterson, and Body Farm by Patricia Cornwell.

My favorite authors are: Gemma Halliday, Tami Hoag, Dean Koontz, James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell for her Kay Scarpetta series only, John Saul, Jonathan Kellerman, John Grisham, and some Mary Higgins Clark.

Heroes:

I honestly can not remember a hero that I loved, which is why I create my own. I'm not a typical alpha male fan, too much testosterone for me. But I do love strong, determined men, even though they may have a painful past and live with a heavy heart. In the end, they always pull through and do what is necessary to overcome the obstacles and win the girl.
