About Me

Have you had an interesting life? Do you like to write? Do want to write better? Do you want to want to win money for writing about your life?

Memoirs Ink wants to hear it, wants to read it, wants to help you, wants to give it to you.

Memoirs Ink's mission is to encourage, celebrate, promote, publish, and expand the genre of memoir. We believe that everyone has a story they need to tell as well as one they need to hear. Our purpose is to prevent the loss of these stories and the pain that void creates in individuals, families, the community, and the world. We wish everyone to feel the satisfaction and joy of telling, writing, reading or hearing these stories.

Memoirs, Ink. has three core services.
1. Biographies and Memoirs. We record oral history interviews with you (or the person you want memorialized). After this, we transcribe the interviews, walk around inside your life for a bit, then we shed hundreds of drops of blood and ink and sweat to write a biography, memoir or autobiography for you or your loved one.
2. Personal Documentaries. Does/did your grandfather have a twinkle in his eye when he told certain tales, recited cowboy poetry or told jokes? The visual record adds a different dimension to family legacies. Even children who can't read, can know their ancestor and their stories. Our documentaries are personal, high quality, and quite possibly the best thing you can ever do for your family. Samples are available on our website.

3. Writing Classes.Want to write your own story? We encourage everyone to do it themselves if they have it in them. And we want to help you. Memoirs Ink offers writing classes, both online and in person in personal essay, creative non-fiction, and memoir. Check out our upcoming class schedule here . Space is limited, so register today.

In addition to the above, Memoirs Ink also promotes the genre of memoir by hosting two writing contests per year: the Annual contest (August 1 deadline), and the Half-Yearly Contest (February 15 deadline). These contests were created to promote the telling of personal stories and to give money to deserving writers in this genre. Cash prizes total more tan $3,500/year.
