About Me

**NOTE: I do not accept friend requests from spammers or individuals with whom I have no common interests. I check the profile of every person who sends me a friend request, and if I see that we have nothing in common or that I don't know you somehow, I won't accept your request. Thanks!**
Who am I? Shy at first, then more outgoing. Overly-sensitive at times. Fiercely loyal to my friends. Short-tempered on occasion. Blunt and uncensored often.
My name is Amy. I'm 25 years old, though I've been told I look younger. I am originally from Long Island, NY, but currently attending graduate school in Caldwell, NJ. I am also a writer, by nature and by choice. Here's some more nifty information about me:
- Yes, I have Asperger's Syndrome. No, I am not mentally retarded. I repeat: I am not mentally retarded. If you ever call me such, I will not hesitate to correct you and possibly kick you in the jumblies if you're being a dick (no pun intended) about it. Want to know more about my symptoms or how my Asperger's affects me? Ask. I have no problem answering your questions as long as you're simply civil and polite about it. :)
- I have appeared in a documentary called Normal People Scare Me (see banner below), directed by Taylor Cross, a 19-year-old with high-functioning autism. I am currently working with his mother, Keri Bowers (who co-directed NPSM) on a new documentary that she is producing and directing. For more info, keep reading.
- As I mentioned above, I am a writer. I started out writing poetry and short stories, and have sinced branched out into non-fiction. I am currently writing "The Naughty Autie" , a sexuality and dating how-to book for people with autism and Asperger's Syndrome. Also in the works, though secondary to the first book, is my memoir, tentatively titled "The Scrunchie Around My Wrist". I went down to Los Angeles the weekend of September 22, 2006, and there I met a literary agent named Robyn Meisinger, with whom I am collaborating for a new documentary called ARTS. She is helping me with the marketing of my book, so keep your peepers peeled for "The Naughty Autie" and "The Scrunchie Around My Wrist" on bookshelves in the near future! (And watch my page here for more updates!)
- I am fiercely loyal and dedicated to my friends. I do not let any friendship go without a fight. If you are my friend, then you have my loyalty for life. I have a very low tolerance for liars and deceivers. I am an honest person, always, and as such, I would expect that others would return that honesty in kind. I tend to trust easily, and this does set me up to be taken advantage of, though nowadays I am more savvy and aware of it than in times past. However, I still have difficulties telling when someone is lying to me. So, in short: Don't lie to me. Be honest with me. Be direct. You know I will do the same for you.
- The male celebrities with whom I would like to have meaningful intercourse (that means a CONVERSATION, you pervs =P) are: Johnny Depp, Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, Paul Dinello, Hugh Laurie, Robert Sean Leonard, David Duchovny, Denis Leary, Christopher Meloni, Harrison Ford, and Christopher Walken (yes, really).
- I have many dreams and goals that I hope to achieve. For the first time in my life, I feel unafraid to really try. I am learning how to respect myself, to acknowledge and nuture the goddess in me. Sometimes I'm still afraid of failure, of disappointing my parents and friends (and myself), but I am finally starting to believe in my potential.
I believe in the Goddess in me, and in every woman.
"To me there is no difference between one person and another; I behold all as soul-reflections of the one God. I can't think of anyone as a stranger, for I know that we are all part of the One Spirit." ~ Paramahansa Yogananda..

My Personality

Neuroticism 50
Extraversion 38
Openness to Experience 77
Agreeableness 69
Conscientiousness 66

You do not experience strong, irresistible cravings and consequently do not find yourself tempted to overindulge, however you experience panic, confusion, and helplessness when under pressure or stress. People generally perceive you as distant and reserved, and you do not usually reach out to others. You prefer familiar routines and for things to stay the same. You can tend to feel uncomfortable with change. You find helping other people genuinely rewarding and are generally willing to assist those who are in need. You find that doing things for others is a form of self-fulfillment rather than self-sacrifice, however you do not enjoy confrontation, but you will stand up for yourself or push your point if you feel it is important. You have a strong sense of duty and obligation, and feel a moral obligation to do the right thing.

You are Victoria Winters! You're an innocent soul who often has trouble understanding the world around you. You appreciate the value of heritage and are driven by a desire to find your place in the world. Just lose the ugly sleeveless dresses, okay?
