About Me

I am just happy I have finally got my website up - even if it is a beta and glitchy. Check it out at www.PaulDamon.comI will shortly be involved in the production of Jon Jedlowski's movie "The Figure", to be shot during the summer. I will play a dark and dangerous "Assassin"!!!I am currently working on a movie with a great cast and production team that is an intense, psychological thriller called "The Breaking". Filming began on Saturday, April 19th and will continue for several weeks. Official release date has not yet been set.Production is a collaboration between Digital Deity Dramawerkz and Pig Productions.Main cast is as follows:Caesar Michael Jones (being played by) Paul Damon The Interrogator (being played by) Wes Linnenbank Mr. Ecks (being played by) Keith Burrows Mr. Why (being played by) Joseph Cintron Mr. Zee (being played by) Dave Davis The Doctor (being played by) Barry M. Livingston Woman in the Window (being played by Merry Dawn) The Driver (being played by) T. Brett Folmar Bud (being played by Whitey Wade) Zeke (being played by) W. S. SmithOk, on a more personal note, I am experimenting with scoring soundtrack themes.A nice article about the Welsh people in America:The Welsh in America and the world Wednesday, May 28, 2008 By Marylynne Pitz, Pittsburgh Post-GazetteThe red dragon is the symbol of Wales. It's said that the Welsh excel in occupations that involve talking -- acting, preaching, teaching, politics, singing, reciting poetry and storytelling. There was no end of talking before 56 men signed the Declaration of Independence; of those, at least six were Welsh or had Welsh ancestry, including Thomas Jefferson. At least two U.S. presidents, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe, claimed Welsh ancestry.Among this year's presidential contenders, Democratic New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton can claim Welsh ancestry because her father hailed from a long line of Welsh Methodists.Moviegoers who have seen "Goldfinger" recognize the distinctive voice of Dame Shirley Bassey, who sang the title song for two other James Bond movies, "Diamonds Are Forever" and "Moonraker." Queen Elizabeth II honored her with the title of dame in 1999.Baby Boomers can imitate the live, kinetic performances of Welshman Tom Jones, whose smash hits include "It's Not Unusual" and "The Green, Green Grass of Home."Among well-known Welsh actors are silent screen comedian Harold Lloyd and later Treat Williams, comedian Bob Hope, Richard Burton, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Christian Bale, Jonathan Pryce and Catherine Zeta-Jones.Architect Frank Lloyd Wright was born of a Welsh mother, and Taliesin, the name he gave to homes in Wisconsin and Arizona, means shining brow and also refers to one of the oldest Welsh poets.Wright put the Welsh bardic sign, which is a three-pronged Celtic symbol, in most of his buildings. The words in the symbol mean "The Truth Against the World."In the world of literature, Dafydd Ap Gwilym was the Welsh answer to Shakespeare. The best-known modern Welsh poet is probably Dylan Thomas, and the most popular myth from Wales is the legend of King Arthur. The Welsh, who are independent thinkers, have succeeded in science, too. Clive Granger and Robert Engle won the 2003 Nobel Prize for Economics, and Sir Martin Evans, the discoverer of stem cells, received the Nobel Prize for his work in mammalian genetics. The Welsh were pleased in 2005 when Sir Howard Stringer became chairman and CEO of Sony Corp. of Japan. He's the first non-Japanese executive to head the corporation. And the most notorious Welshman of all was Bartholomew Roberts, better known as Black Bart, who plundered more than 470 ships off the coast of the Americas and Africa between 1719 and 1722, besting even Captain Kidd and Blackbeard in the search for treasure.

My Interests

I set off on a kind of world exploration when I was 19, and left the British Isles to work as a crew officer on various cruise ships around the Bahamas, Caribbean, and Pacific American and Mexican coasts. Ended up settling down in Colombia for 5 years (beautiful country) before moving to Houston. Who knows where my travels will take me next... Nomadic spirit I guess.

I'd like to meet:

I'm just a Welsh lad born in the valleys of South Wales (not too far from where Richard Burton, Catherine Zeta Jones, and Anthony Hopkins were born - All Welshies!) from the British Isles who loves his hot cup of tea, living in the deep South of Texas... And loving it.

Music:

Living here as a Brit is interesting. Imagine that if I had a cent for everytime somebody says to me "Oh, you're English..." I'd be incredibly rich. Aside from that - they never understand me at any fast-food drive thru. They get me to repeat my order up to 5 times or more, then completely mess it up at the end, with a "Oh, your accent is so cool..." thrown in for good measure!!! LOL! My penchant for drinking hot tea drives people crazy - but I don't give a flying hoot. Take the Brit out of Britain, but never the TEA out of the Brit!!!

Movies:

To be honest - and this may sound corny, but I always find myself inspired by women of stamina, strength, courage, resourcefulness, and staying power. I also regularly find myself inspired by the sky at night... The stars and galaxies that fill the cosmos... I always find my mind drifting away to unusual vistas and possibilities.

Television:

1. The Keep - OMG this movie never gets old. Music by Tangerine Dream and some amazing sequences. Check details at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085780/2. Near Dark - a largely unnoticed movie, but just holds my interest. Music is awesome!! Check details at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093605/3. Man Who Fell to Earth - Starring David Bowie who was an idol of mine when I was in my teens. This movie is haunting and awe inspiring... Music of course is amazing. Check details at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074851/4. Cashback - A recent movie from the U.K. I love the time lapse sequences and the movie premise is just exhilerating and a joy to watch. Music is by Guy Farley... It is breath taking, and 2 tracks are on my music playlist. Check details at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460740/
