Get Stroked by Midnight!

About Me

I am a writer, a revision goddess, a friend to feral cats, and I have sipped from the sacred spring at Tara. Mistah Midnight says I have cat magic, my mother says I'm a witch. Through my stories, I am an explorer of worlds. I am a hybrid, equally at home with words and numbers.

I am a ghoul. Anything dealing with forensics interests me, and I have been trained to do body IDs from skeletal and dental remains. I'm only hooked on the original CSI series; life holds too many experiences for me to spend more time watching someone else's idea of it on television.

Oh, and my books are available from the wonderful small press, Ellora's Cave. EC broke open the floodgates, creating the market for frank, refreshingly erotic romance. I write several series, all of which qualify as woo-woo stories, with paranormal characters and otherworldly settings. Yes, I am truly paranormal!

The Elementals started the whole crazy writing thing. FIRE AND ICE was first published by the now-defunct Dreams Unlimited back in 2000 and is now available in digital formats on its own as well as bundled in print with my air spirit story, SMALL MAGICK, under the title ELEMENTALS 1.

My Dark Mages series is set in the same Dark Ages world of magick as the Elementals. The first is Half Moon Magick in the witch-themed anthology IN MOONLIGHT. The second is a Wild Winter Quickie. Finding the Light is available in digital formats on its own or bundled for print in WILD WINTER. You can get the digital formats at the EC website.

I also collaborate with two different authors, one under the collective name Annalise. We write The Fantasy Shoppe series together. It's about time we got cracking on another in that series!

The latest collaboration that's out is ROGUES, the book shown above, a truly fun collaboration with Cricket Starr. How can a futuristic menage with a vampire, a psychic and a werewolf on a rapid-fire romp across the galaxy not be fun?

We're working on the sequel right now, called OUTLAWS.

I'd like to meet:

Readers, other writers and those who share my varied interests.

Music:

Country. The old-fashioned whiny-through-the-nose, foot-stompin' kind. Story songs with humor. Randy Travis. Dwight Yoakum. EmmyLou Harris. Almost any music that's good. Classical. Blues. I don't appreciate much rap or jazz, though. I grew up in the 70s, and early pop and rock are in my blood. Happy tunes!

Movies:

Overboard, Oh, Brother Where Art Thou?, Dragonheart - oh, that voice of Sean's is perfect, A Fish Called Wanda, Groundhog Day, Finding Forrester, Shanghai Noon (well, really anything with Jackie Chan's fantastic one-shot action sequences and humor!), Hunt for Red October, Romancing the Stone. I don't like horror or depressing movies. If I want that, I'll watch the news.

Television:

Winter Olympics! Babylon 5, Chef!, Stargate SG-1, CSI: Crime Scene Investigations, Project Runway (on a good day, I can out-Santino Santino), Star Trek

Books:

anything by Jim Butcher, Barbara Hambly, Carole Nelson Douglas and Christine Feehan; urban fantasy; paranormal romance; true crime; archaeology; history, mostly prior to gunpowder. CLASSICS: Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale; Wild at Heart by Patricia Gaffney; Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase Which Dark Hunter Character Do You Belong With?
You belong with Ravyn Kontis! He may spend his spare time as a cat, but puss in boots certainly knows what he's doing! You like your man with an animal side but also gentle and willing to open up.

Happy New Year!

Our kitchen is finally DONE! I love it. The big difference I notice, other than the gas cooktop being much better than electric, is that I walk a lot more. Much more space, much more counter surface, ...

Ghost stories - for real!

Yes, I believe in ghosts. Have I ever seen one? No, but I've sensed them. ("I sense dead people." Yeah, that gets a lot of attention. Or not.) I've also heard them. My best guess is that we're either ...
