The band Wandering Star was formed in September 2005.
In May 2005, Luisa Bertolatti, singer and actress, tired of singing by herself and for herself only, wishes to create a folk rock music project consisting of voice and guitar.
Marco Grisa, the director of the play she’s working on at the time, introduces her to Simone Folador, an up and coming talented guitarist who obtained his diploma at the Pareggiato F. Vittadini Institute in Pavia, Italy. Simone plays his guitar as Luisa and her fellow actors are on stage.
Luisa is instantly astounded by Simone's ability and style, and asks him to collaborate with her. After some hesitation, Simone accepts.
The summer goes by, and the two don’t see each other at all.
In September 2005, they meet up for the first time at Simone’s rehearsal studio, the affectionately titled “Templeâ€. Luisa is really nervous but manages to sing a little bit of a song.
Simone is instantly amazed by her warm and embracing voice. They look at each other and know that this is the beginning of Wandering Star.
Simone has already recorded a completed song, an instrumental track called “Waiting Forâ€. Luisa asks if she can try and create a melody for vocals for the song. Simone, unconvinced, accepts.
Two days later, Luisa comes back to the studio with the vocals for “Waiting For†– and although they later decide to keep the track instrumental, this is the beginning of their creative path together.
During their third rehearsal, Simone starts to improvise a song. Luisa grabs some lyrics that he wrote and begins to sing, improvising. They soon created their first song together: “F.N.M.â€.
Since then the two have continued to write music together, with the participation of Maddalena Prevosti (Violoncello). Their first demo, “Ocean of Youâ€, which was recorded in Luisa’s basement, has been completed. They are now recording their first album.
Wandering Star hope to bring love, colour and poetry to the world and whomever wishes to listen to their music.
