Charles Butler & Trinity is a community based choir led by Charles P. Butler, Jr. Based out of the Washington, DC area, Trinity intermixes urban soul with contemporary gospel music, and has become one of the most distinguished and sought after non-recording gospel groups on the East Coast.Since their commencement in 1997, the group has had the opportunity to share the stage with the likes of Karen Clark-Sheard, Kim Burrell, Bobby Jones, Natalie Wilson & SOP, Cheryl (CoKo) Gamble, James Hall and Worship & Praise, Lecresia Campbell, Youthful Praise, Tyrone Tribbett & Greater Anointing, Lucinda Moore, Rev. Timothy Wright, Pastor Hezekiah Walker, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Prophetess Juanita Bynum-Weeks, Bishop George Bloomer, Pastor Jamal Bryant and Bishop Eddie Long. Charles Butler & Trinity performed with the gospel musical "Is Silver & Gold Worth Your Soul," as well as sang live on the Bobby Jones Artist retreat aired on the WORD network, TBN network, The Gospel Heritage Conference,
The GMWA Board Meeting and on the national R&B video show "MHz Urban," which is also broadcast in international countries.Charles started Trinity after his tenure as a high school choir director. The choir began with six members, but quickly grew in membership, and began to build a fundamental following with DC-area churches.Trinity's mission is simply to win souls for Christ. They aim to let both the young and old know that you can love the Lord and enjoy life too.
