Mumen Kimlecia Ngenge (Cameroonian Descent) was born and raised in Fort Washington Maryland and began singing at a very young age at her church home Hunter Memorial AME, her very first musical influence and advisee was Ms. Linda Washington. She has also participated in the Maryland Honors Choirs all through out high school. During high school, Mumen joined two community choirs "Charles Butler & Trinity" which she is still currently a member of and "Paul Avery and the Ministry Choir." While in Charles Butler & Trinity she traveled all over the East Coast singing for artist such as Monique Walker, Coko,Lucinda Moore, and Byron Cage. As a member of the youth Praise team of Ebenezer AME church under the leadership of her very supportive pastors Rev. Grainger and Rev. JoAnn Browning Mumen was privileged to sing behind Jeff Majors, Kierra Clark Sheared, Kirk Franklin and sing lead with Kanye West. Mumen has also had the opportunity to sing behind notable gospel singers such as Izzy,Dave Hollister, Kim Burrell, James Fortune,Keith Williams, Earnest Pugh, Byron Cage and Brent Jones whose album she debuted on as a solo artist in February "The Ultimate Weekend". She has done background work with Coko lead singer of the group formally known as SWV, and currently is a background singer for Byron Cage
Mumen is a graduate from Hampton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in vocal performance. During her time at Hampton she was apart of the university Choir the University Jazz ensemble and a lead soloist in the Vocal Jazz ensemble. Ms. Ngenge has also participated with the Hampton Players as the leading role in West Side Story as "Maria". Also during her time at Hampton she was featured in the 2006 December issues of Jet Magazine as a model. She has been in various hair magazines as well as hair books the latest being the current Style Q 2007 Magazine as a model for award winning stylist Sherritta Matthews. She is currently a member of Ebenezer AME under the love of her very supporting Pastors, Grainger and JoAnn Browning.
