In the beautiful city of Boston, an aggregation of young adults came together, bringing a fresh sound of youthful praise and worship that became appealing to young and old alike. MINISTRY was conceived February 5, 2007 by Ryan Vincent Ford, a singer/songwriter who is passionate about music and ministry combined. By the leading of the Holy Spirit, he was able to form and piece together a music ministry that would soon arise to be examples of young men and women who are "kingdom builders". With MINISTRY, his group of vocalists noted for their spirited sound and their tasteful vocal delivery, they began creating a buzz around the city of Boston traveling to several churches, ministering in song. Ryan & MINISTRY focus on keeping God's glory in the forefront so that the body of believers remain empowered and encouraged, and that lost souls will find Christ. They are grateful that God would use them as empty vessels, to share with the world all that they have to offer.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER:
Ryan began his musical journey at the infant age of 2 years old, where he could sing a number of gospel songs that the choir at his church sang. The congregation would find him standing every time the praise team or the choir stood up to sing. Later on at the age of 5, he became interested in the piano. So, after every Sunday morning service, he would run up to the piano and pluck out several notes. His parents found it to be intriguing how all of the other kids would run outside of the church to play, but their son wouldn't. Recoginizing that Ryan may decide to get serious about music, they began to look into getting him piano lessons so that he may truly learn how to play the piano. By the time Ryan was 11 years of age, he began playing for the Little Voices of Zion (Children's Choir) at his church, and by 13 he was playing for the church full time. All the while experiencing the life of a full time church musician at a young age, he had also experienced the very power of God on his life as well. He was able to grab ahold of the concept of "ministry" and the "annointing" that God had placed on his life. He knew that music and ministry was what he wanted to pursue in God. Therefore, his parents felt the need to seek continual music education for him in His adolescence. So, Ryan was then accepted into the Visual and Performing Arts Program at Suitland High School (Forestville, MD) at the age of 14, and began his four years of high school.
While at Suitland High School, he was able to cultivate the talent and the gifting that God had given him. He became a classically-trained vocalist, as he did when he first started classical piano lessons in his younger years. From there, he decided to step up and offer his servitude as a musician for the Suitland High School Gospel Choir from the latter part of his freshman year, up until his high school graduation June 2005. Then Ryan was accepted into the world-renown Berklee College of Music, one of the most prestigious contemporary music schools in the world. After being accepted, Ryan felt it was his time to really step out on faith, and establish his identity in God. For a year and a half, he wrote the vision, prayed, and sought after God for direction. That's when MINISTRY was formed February 2007. From then on, God poured out his anointing on the music ministry, and allowed them to go out into the city of Boston, and share the presence of God with all people young and old. "My very prayer is that this music ministry will not be just another ensemble, but that God would use us as HE pleases, and allow us to share the message of Christ in the presence of those He sets before us". Ryan's love for music has grown ever since he realized the calling on his life, and the perfect plan that God has destined for him. Ryan says, "I love music, and I love ministry...and God has allowed me to mature in both. With that, I plan to take it to the world, and share all that God has given me to empower, encourage and upbuild those that are saved, and unsaved".
