REGGAE MUSIC PRODUCER EXTRAORDINAIRE

About Me

Myspace LayoutsFor every genre of music there is always a producer who has helped to shape and develop that music, sometimes working in the background and not being heralded with the who's who. Computer Paul is without a doubt a typical example of one such producer. His musical and production skills have encompassed almost every genre of reggae music. From Dancehall through Pop, he has been the creative driving force behind a long string of hit records. Paul's credits reads the who's who of reggae, including Sean Paul, Shabba Ranx, Beenie Man, Bounty Killa, Buju Banton, Maxie Priest, Shaggy, Jimmy Cliff, the Inner Circle, Monyaka, Baba Maal and a host of many other top reggae stars. While living in New York in the 80's Paul formed an integral part of the NY super group Monyaka, who topped the charts in the US and the UK with the mega-hit "Go dey Yaka". Performing on that record as a bass and keyboard player Paul solidified his place as an hitmaker with this one of a kind Reggae group. His talent has also graced many top local producers with numerous hit songs and has established him as one of the most sought after session musicians in Jamaica. Returning to Jamaica after living in the USA for seventeen years, Paul decided it was time to come home and contribute to the development of the abundant young talent in Jamaica. He was also the producer/musician behind the Jimmy Cliff super hit "I can see clearly now" from the "Cool Runnings" movie soundtrack, and was also credited with the success of "Inner Circles" hits "Bad boys" and "Sweat" (a-la-la-lo-long).Most recently he was the production and musical genius behind the mega George Nooks hit " God is standing by " which topped all reggae charts locally and internationally , breaking the all time record in Jamaica as the longest running number one chart hit, staying at the top position for an unprecedented 15 weeks. His Riddim tracks have also blessed many major artists with chart-toppers including Sizzla's "No time to gaze", Buju Banton's "Rampage", Richie Spice's "Grooving my girl", Louie Culture's "Gongalee", Capleton's "Critics", and mega riddims like "Bollywood" for In the Streets Records and most recently "Casablanca" for Slam/Greensleeves and "The Villain" for Swatch International Records. True to his tradition of making a hit riddim every year, Paul has kicked it off in 2007 with another monster track called "The Eagle Eye" on the Caspa label which also features MBC, Capleton and Elephant Man, and many top acts. This track is already getting heavy rotation in Jamaica and creating a big impact in the dancehall. To top this off, Paul's musical skills continue blazing on the international level in 2007, with a track on the new Akon multiplatinum album "Konvicted" titled "Mama Africa"Paul has been a consistent hitmaker, creating hit tracks year in year out. Mention the name "Computer Paul" anywhere reggae is played and you will get the same response "wicked rhythm tracks", all this has not boosted his ego and he remains one of the most humble producers who will always take time out to listen to new artists. His philosophy is, "the future of the music depends on keeping the young talent involved in the music" hence his dedication to work with future stars MBC and Ky-an, who under his mentoring and production genius have already started making a great impact on the future of Reggae music coming out of Jamaica. With that kind of vision towards the future and an impeckable track record of solid hits, there is no doubt that "Computer Paul" will secure his place in Reggae Music's Hall of Fame.Contact Paul at [email protected] or (Tel) 876-377-8299
