Born and raised in East London, England to Jamaican parents, as a young child I loved poetry as I got older I started adding melodies to my poems and at the age of 7 years old, I wrote my first song. As a teenager in London I was the only female member of a sound called “LOVERS SUPERIOR”. After coming to America I became the only female member of a sound called “DUBMASTER." My first partner was Bandit (also known as a DJ, Radio host and Asst. Engineer for HC & F Studio’s, and good friend to this day) after doing some solo projects I became a member of the 1st female Dancehall group Worl-A-Girl.I have been blessed to of had many a great opportunity with Worl-A-Girl including but not limited to winning 5 Tamika Reggae Awards, receiving a Gold Record for our song on the Disney Movie soundtrack "COOL RUNNINGS" having our cover of Bob Marley's NO WOMAN NO CRY make history in Africa as our single hit 2 on the West African album chart. Also working with legendary people in Reggae such as Marcia Griffiths, Jimmy Cliff, Dean Fraser, Half Pint, Lloyd Parks, Inner Circle, Aswad, Beres Hammond, Third World, Sly and Robbie, Freddy McGregor, Tommy Cowan and the Late Great Dennis Brown just to mention a few also performing on a host of festivals and shows such as REGGAE SUNSPLASH, REGGAE SUMFEST, REGGAE SUNSPLASH JAPAN, REGGAE SUNSPLASH MALAYSIA, JAPANSPLASH, TAMIKA REGGAE AWARDS, CULTURAMA, MIAMI REGGAE FEST and STEEPLECHASE REGGAE FEST We had the pleasure of touring the Ivory Coast in West Africa with MORGAN HERITAGE where we were given authentic African names with official certificates of documentation, and where I had the distinct pleasure of being dressed up in ceremonial clothing and being made an honorary Queen I will always treasure my W-A-G memories. As for the the members of W-A-G (past) JULIETTE aka "SMURFETTE" currently resides in Canada and is fulfilling her dream of working with children, CHARMAINE is currently pursuing a Gospel career (present) SABRINA and LINDA are both blessed, both doing their thing, Sabrina is involved in her church choir as well as singing with the Zionettes and other Gospel & Contemporary groups, Linda is doing what she does best which is networking with people for her own personal wellness business and both are doing the family thing. We are still very much a part of each other lives as we share God parenting duties to each others children. I guess you could say we are on extended reggae hiatus but don’t count us out yet anything is possible. As for me "Music is my oxygen, I need it like that" I am doing what I do best and that is creating new music both for myself and other people. I really get a high from the writing and creating process for new songs I am also being taught the production side of the business by my friend and Tutor(smile) Oniel Clarke of Checkmate Music. listen to some of my creations and stay tuned for brand new music from me real soon.
