About Me

I'm a mother, a speech therapist, a singer, and song writer. The Hudson River inspires me. The sounds of strings take my breath away, especially the Arabic oud and Spanish guitar. Dancing to Arabic music is the best thing I do. I have no problem with saying "I don't know." When I sing, I feel that the world is filling my heart. When I sing, I fall in love with all the eyes looking at me; I fall in love with the room, the musicians, the strings, and the skin of the Riq (Arabic percussion). When I sing, I let out my grief, contentment, confusion, sanity and insanity, power and weakness. When I sing, I forgive the whole world. When people sing along with me from all kinds of backgrounds, I know that the world is still safe and that we still love each other. When I sing, all man-made boarders, armies, patriotism, nationalism, political incorrect, religious incorrect, and many more phenomena become illusions. In a true revealing moment, we are all in love, we all love to share and give and we all feel guilty for hurting each other. When I sing, I realize that there is nothing in the world worth causing pain to anyone. When I sing, I reach out to my audience's hearts and unite.
