About Me

Supernatural Law is the title of an ongoing comic book by cartoonist Batton Lash. The series stars attorneys Alanna Wolff and Jeff Byrd, "Counselors of the Macabre." Batton created the characters for a weekly newspaper strip, "Wolff & Byrd," back in 1979. The strip first appeared in The Brooklyn Paper and then went on to run regularly in The National Law Journal for 14 years.
Lash and his wife, Jackie Estrada, founded Exhibit A Press in 1994 to publish the comimc book version of Wolff & Byrd; the title changed to Supernatural Law with issue 23. Over the years Exhibit has published 41 issues of the comic book, four issues of the spinoff series Mavis starring Wolff & Byrd's intrepid secretary, and several trade paperback collections. In the fall of 2005 Batton began producing all-new stories in color for the online version of the series at SupernaturalLaw.com . These stories are "ripped from the headlines," with takes on everything from the Scott Peterson Case and Court TV ("My Husband Killed Me and Now He Must Pay . . . Damages!") to marriage rights ("The Life-Partner of Frankenstein) to Ann Coulter vs. Ted Rall ("How to Talk to a Mortal [If You Must]").
