Isotope

Five thousand steps ahead of all expectation

About Me

The four-time "Best of the Bay" awarded ISOTOPE - THE COMIC BOOK LOUNGE is a uniquely swank, hip comic store for sexy comic nerds in the heart of San FranciscoAnd at the Isotope it's all about the comics. It doesn't matter if it's a "hot 100" book or the xeroxed comic from the creator down the street, the enthusiastic staff is reading what ever you're reading plus a whole lot more. The lads and lady likes nothing more than to sample a new title, check out a new creative team, or keep up with the latest developments in an on-going series... and are perpetually at your disposal to help you find the books that make you fall in love with the artform all over again. With a focus on graphic novels and trade paperbacks the Isotope is well known for stocking a wide variety of comic titles, from the mainstream to the obscure. The Isotope leaves the action figures, posters, card games, or other collectable impedimenta to the other guys so that the shop's comic pimps can proudly display the great comics all over the store. Known for uncommon and sometimes outrageous in-store creator events the Isotope regularly hosts happenings with our favorite creators. Recent guests include Grant Morrison , Eric Powell , JH Williams , Jim Lee , Kirsten Baldock . Ed Brubaker , and the Japanese electrorock group PINE*am . Isotope is also the home of the Comic Rockstars Toilet Seat Museum
