Writer For Hire

About Me

I'm a German writer and translator. My published work includes several short stories published in the US and Australia, most notably the Midnight Sentinel series about a pulp-type superhero. As "Ashe Hyams," I wrote a novel in the German Torn series (a fantasy/horror series about a time-traveling superhero), published by Bastei.
Another novel, Return of the Ravager , is now available.
My horror novel Jahrmarkt des Grauens was published in August 2007.
Among my comics work are the serial Yesterday's Heroes for Visual Assault Press, Cyborg Assault Hamsters for 430 Comics and Berserker: The Wild Hunt , which is now online as a webcomic. I have also made other stories available online . Scoop , can be read at Drunk Duck.
As a translator for the languages German, English and Japanese, I work mostly in the field of manga and anime, on such diverse projects as, for example, (anime): Gundam Seed, GetBackers and Maison Ikkoku and (manga): Subaru, Magister Negi Magi and Spirit of Wonder. My Interests

Science fiction. Fantasy. Western. Comics. Novels. Non-fiction. History. Psychology. Science. Sociology. The past. The present. The future.

I'd like to meet:

Readers. Booksellers. Publishers. Editors. Reviewers. Agents.

Basically, you.

Music:

I've very broad tastes in music. I can enjoy opera (where I prefer Orff and Wagner) as well as musicals (my favorite being Man of La Mancha), movie scores (particularly John Barry) or even Eminem.

Movies:

People are frequently amused when I tell them that my favorite movies are Howard the Duck, Remo Williams and Galaxy Quest. But, yes, I know the difference between a movie I like and a good movie.

Television:

I don't watch television.

Books:

The five books that I couldn't live without are (in no particular order) Eiji Yoshikawa's Musashi, T.H. White's The Once And Future King, Larry McMurty's Lonesome Dove, Lo Kuang-chung's Romance of the Three Kingdoms and James Clavell's Shôgun

Heroes:

Stan Lee. Isaac Asimov. Robert A. Heinlein. HH Dalai Lama. Mickey Spillane. Robin Hood. Zorro. Phantom. Robert E. Howard. Dan Shocker.
