I'm Tony Lee, and I'm a writer from the UK. I come from London, but currently live in a shared house in Birmingham.I specialise in comic books, most recently Starship Troopers , Doctor Who , Midnight Kiss and Hope Falls. I've written or am writing for a variety of publishers including Marvel , IDW , Titan Magazines , Ait/PlanetLar , Markosia , Panini Comics , Walker Books and Mongoose Publishing .For Marvel Comics I've written three things, both short stories - in Feb 2004 I had an 11 page story in X-Men Unlimited #1 (Memories, featuring Sage), and in February 2006 I had an 8 page 'Mark Hazzard - MERC' tale in Amazing Fantasy #18. This is available collected in Marvel's Graphic Novel Untold Tales of the New Universe. And yes, the third thing is a ten page Spider Man Family story called 'Identity' due out at some point. At the same time that I had my first X-Men book, I also had a black and white horror story (drawn by Paul Ridgon) in Trailer Park Of Terror #4. It was called 'What You Wish For',and they liked it enough to print it.In October 2007, I had another story published, this time in colour called 'The Schedule'.My only other anthology work was for Digital Webbing Presents #18, with Owen Gieni, called Jigsaw Lady. After that, I worked for APC and Mongoose at the same time on several titles, many of which moved across to Markosia. Firstly, there was the excellent The Gloom with Dan Boultwood, our Pulp Noir take on pretty much every 40's matinee idol going. We have pastiches of The Shadow, The Spider, Doc Savage, Flash Gordon, King Of The Rocket Men and many more.It was originally five issues, but issue #3 never came out after APC folded. That said, at one point Markosia was going to put it out, but in the end there was so much of a delay that things never happened.Although, Rich Emms still has the rights, and all five issues are finished. So we live in hope. Expect a trade sometime soon. In the meantime, the series is being serialised every Friday at The Chemistry Set . Just scroll to the bottom and work your way up. Adapting wise, I adapted the book Shadowmancer by G.P. Taylor into a ten part series, and also Brothers - The Fall Of Lucifer, which only lasted one issue (although the first five were written) due to complications with the book's owner. Following Shadowmancer, in 2006 I also edited/adapted a short story by G.P Taylor called The Tizzle Sisters And Erik into an illustrated novel.Throughout 2006 and 2007 I also wrote the three book Starship Troopers series for Markosia, three sets of four issues, followed by four issues of the ongoing before I stepped down from the book in June 2007. These were originally three graphic novels for Mongoose back in 2004 that eventually were licensed to Markosia, coloured, re-edited to fit a monthly format and then brought out.Of course my best known creator owned book at Markosia was Midnight Kiss, with art by Ryan Stegman and colours by Kieran Oats. This was a series originally with APC that went from 18 issues to 6 issues to a last minute 5 issues due to delays and printer issues, and a collected edition is available. Although this was creator owned, this also had the character Jerry Cornelius in, with permission from Michael Moorcock, who liked my portrayal of Jerry so much, he wrote the introduction to the trade. I owe him so many drinks.A mix of celtic myths, the Wizard Of Oz, Angels and Demons and Supernatural Hitmen, this really was the best fun I ever had writing. While I did these, I also did some work outside of the US - in 2006 I wrote the three part Doctor Who story 'F.A.Q' for Doctor Who Magazine, (in issues #369, #370 and #371) featuring the 10th Doctor and Rose, and I also wrote several stories in both Wallace & Gromit Magazine (issues #25 and #26 respectively), and a Shrek tale in Dreamworks Magazine. In November, my five part supernatural thriller Hope Falls started to come out from Markosia. It's once more drawn by my erstwhile companion Dan Boultwood, and it's some of the best stuff he's ever done. More can be found at www.hope-falls.com.I also have a ton of Graphic Novels out thoughout 2009 - With Walker Books I have the adaptation of Raven's Gate by Anthony Horowitz (art by Dom Reardon), and also Robin Hood - Outlaw's Pride, a new take on the traditional myth, with art by Sam Hart out in Spring 2009.Later in 2009? With AiT/PlanetLar I have the black and white Graphic Novel Dodge & Twist out (art by Paul Peart-Smith) that's Oliver Twist, twelve years on, a tale of revenge, blackmail, and the greatest heist of the century. Think Ocean's Eleven if written by Charles Dickens.Comics wise in 2008 I have a six part Doctor Who comic coming out from IDW called Doctor Who: The Forgotten - it's a 10th Doctor tale but involves more than one Doctor - this is out in August and has art by the wonderful Y The Last Man artist Pia Guerra, I have a one shot adult comedy from Moonstone called MILF Magnet, and a six part Warrior Nun: Areala miniseries with Antarctic Press. In addition to that, Dan Boultwood and I will be starting on a weekly serial called The Prince Of Baghdad for The DFC, a new weekly UK Children's comic, the same publisher as St Spooky's School For Girls - a serial I'm doing with Rob Guillory. For Judge Dredd: The Megazine I've written a five issue tale of carnage called Citi-Def: Field Trip, art by Jack Lawrence, and I'm currently scripting a 15 part serial for 2000ad called Stalag #666 for August, with art by Jon Davis-Hunt.I'm working on Rough Trade with Burn Notice consulting producer Michael Wilson and artist Scott James, and The Journal with Bevis Musson. Finally, I'm working with Moonstone Books to create a Lady Action series to compliment their Captain Action franchise.There. That about covers it.I'll keep updating this page as newer projects are announced.Outside of comics, I've written for a variety of mediums including Radio 4, British and American Television and both local and national newspapers. I have also written several award winning local radio campaigns. I'm also an accomplished Bard and performer, and have held the High Bard chair of the East Sussex Broomstick Rally on several occasions. My lecture Creating Gods for fun and Profit and series of lectures on Bards and Ritual Magic were received to critical acclaim, and I still lecture occasionally.I was in the Astaroth Astaroth Astaroth - Hey That's a Good Name For A Band band in the 90's with Paul Mitchell. He commented below. Go friend him. We had some laughs. Now he calls me the 'Cliff Richard of Pagan Campfire Music' and I will punch him. With my fists.I can be found at www.tonylee.co.uk, my Facebook Page or at my LiveJournal site, which I update pretty much daily. Please note that I always delete reader comments with large graphics, videos or music. I use this MySpace page for networking and friends and all that extra stuff in the comments really slows down the load time of the page. So feel free to leave comments, small graphics or links, but any large stuff is deleted almost instantly.
