About The Band
TRIGGER are an awesome 6 piece stadium rock inspired band from Bromsgrove in Worcestershire (The Midlands). They gig regularly in and around the midlands area. Come along to the gigs for a free cd and a mingle! Check out the calender for the next and upcoming gigs! Let me know if you can make any!
Since forming in 2002, the TRIGGER line up has undergone a few changes as members have moved onto other things. Since the auditions in Feb '07 for new members the current line up is "Standing Tall" as... (That pun was totally intended!)

TRIGGER have performed a number of gigs at various venues throughout 2007 including 4 successful shows at The Artrix Theatre in Bromsgrove. Along side the Artrix TRIGGER have performed in several smaller pubs in and around the midlands area.
When seeing TRIGGER perform live their set will include a selection of their original songs from across their 3 original albums! You can also expect to hear the odd cover of the stadium rock bands such as AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Guns 'n' Roses and Led Zeppelin, that have influenced the music TRIGGER write and perform!
TRIGGER independanty released as they are still UNSIGNED, their third album 'Dawn Of A New Knight' in December '07. This album like the previous two 'Call To Arms' and 'Fight The Machine' consists of original self-penned tracks.
TRIGGER have also formed 'Trigger Records' because they appreciate that younger bands are trying to get off the ground all the time. With this in mind they held the Band Idol Competition earlier this year which was designed especially to give these young bands a chance. See the blog (s) for more details!

BAND IDOL 2008
TRIGGER RECORDS was formed by husband and wife Dan and Sally [Trigger] from Bromsgrove in Worcestershire, because they appreciate that young, unsigned bands are struggling to get off the ground all the time. TRIGGER RECORDS gives unsigned bands in and around the Midlands area various opportunities they might not otherwise be given in the hope that it will form the first step towards them getting the recording contract they desire.
These opportunities so far have included a number of bands supporting TRIGGER at their live shows at The Artrix Theatre in Bromsgrove and also at the annual firework display in Sander’s Park in Bromsgrove. This gives the bands the feel of performing live in different settings and in front of an audience. TRIGGER RECORDS also holds showcases to give these bands yet more opportunities. Silent Riot, Rock Dogs and On A Shoestring are just some of the bands that TRIGGER and TRIGGER RECORDS has supported in this way.
Early 2008 saw TRIGGER RECORDS present the BAND IDOL competition. This was specifically designed for unsigned, local bands under 25 to compete against each other across 4 live heats during which the best band from each heat would win a place in the live final. This meant that the best 4 bands were put forward to compete against each other for a £350 cash prize and a 3-track CD recorded and produced by Dan Trigger.
This competition has now taken place and a winner has been decided. All the heats and the live final took place at The Artrix Theatre in Bromsgrove. Each band was given a score, by four judges, out of 10 for musicianship, image, originality, stage presence, “X Factor†and then a score out of 50 for audience response. This gave each band an overall score out of 400 (100 possible points from each judge). Tickets were available to the general public at £5 each and the bands were encouraged to bring family and friends along for support.
The bands that took part in the competition are as follows… VEGAS ASSAULT, CHASING BUTTERFLIES, ACELDAMA, RED LIGHT YELLOW LIGHT GO, TRUST MY DISHONOUR, DISSIDENCE, SILENT RIOT, ABSINTH, USE BOTH HANDS,THE UNKNOWN and SERPION. All these bands can be found here on Myspace both in my friends list and via a Myspace search.
As great as all the bands were only four bands (one from each heat) could make it through to the final, which took place on Saturday 16th February. The four bands that impressed both the judges and the audience, and therefore won themselves a place in the live final were, VEGAS ASSAULT from Heat 1, ACELDAMA from Heat 2, ABSINTH from Heat 3 and finally THE UNKNOWN from Heat 4. These four bands played an absolutely blinding half hour set each on the night of the final, and totally impressed the judges and the audience, so much in fact that there was a mere 4 points between the top 3 bands. This was the closest score of the whole competition. Each band gave their individual performance everything they had and although each band wanted to win the support they gave each other was immense. But as they say “there can only be one winner†and that was true in this competition also. The much deserving band that won the recording opportunity and the cash prize was…
ABSINTH

But for their continued support of both TRIGGER and the Band Idol Competition (they turned up every week to support the other bands) VEGAS ASSAULT have also been given the 3-track CD recording opportunity with Dan Trigger, which again I think everyone concerned would agree is much deserved. But the two bands that went away empty handed should not have done so disappointed as they did amazingly well to make it to the final 4 and they were up against some tough competition.
The 4 bands, the judges, the audience and everyone concerned made it an absolutely fantastic and unforgettable night for everyone present. If you were in the audience that night I’m sure you will agree what a fantastic show it was.
