BAND MEMBERS:
Shueh-li Ong
Creator of Xenovibes (2003/4), show designer, composer, thereminist, synthesist, vocalist who also performs on the Guqin and tin-whistle.
John Anthony Martinez
Drummer/backup vocalist (USA member)
HISTORY: Xenovibes is the brainchild of Australian born Singapore show designer Shueh-li Ong. This original show takes musicians from each city of call to complement the core touring duo of Shueh-li and John (subject to change). The feel will always be different because of the musicians themselves. This is the very essence of Xenovibes; disparate sounds coming together to create a hi-octane musical exchange!
The premier of Xenovibes in Singapore 2004 would be remembered as a show of the United Nations of Musicians; with Michael Spicer on wind/keys (Australia), Jeff Long on guitar (Singapore), John A Martinez on drums (USA) and of course its composer Shueh-li Ong. The premiere opened to a standing room only crowd at the Old Parliament House. XV made its American debut the following year in front of 4,380 people at the Dallas Museum of Art. The line up of six included Mike McKinney (Jackson 5) and Shelley Carrol (Duke Ellington Orch).
Not to be confused with fusion music, Xenovibes the Concert is the exotic world where classical meets ethnic, cyber, psychedelic rock, funk, latin rhythms in a stream of consciousness exchange between participating musicians, akin to jazz improv.
John found his voice through playing e-drums,
"Having caught the Xenovibes bug, John is opposed to a cure, citing more vivid musical creations as a good reason to remain "Xenovibed", quote from the 2004 website/DVD interview.
Shueh-li is best (and humbly) known as "Singapore's first and only diva of the theremin" - Straits Times Singapore. Shueh-li works with Yamaha e-Drummer John Anthony Martinez while in the USA in concert productions, workshops and educational projects.
XENOVIBES: the Band | the Show | the Lifestyle
Xenovibes the Sound:
Promotes the conjoining of ancient art with new world technology, east and west. Not forsaking the past for the present nor being precious about the past over the present.
Xenovibes the Show:
Disparate musical souls meld in a stream of consciousness exchange. Only accomplished musicians who have the discipline of classical training and the flexibility of jazz performance may fulfill the Xenovibes vision. Artistic contributions also come from artists of other disciplines such as multimedia, fine arts and dance.
Xenovibes the Lifestyle:
It is about a well-rounded positive energy towards life and the pouring out of this energy creating good things that do not demand an ego trip but for sharing and enjoyment. Its followers are known as Xenovibers or a XenoViber/Xenovibe as in "I am a XenoVibe".

XenoVibes the noun and its definition [foreign+expressions] was officially used in 2003 by Shueh-li Ong. Usage of the name (Xenovibes, Xenovibe, Xenoviber) and its concept is protected under international law.
Xenovibes is represented in the USA by the alliance of Electric Muse Singapore and Fingerfoot Music Productions USA. Its creator Shueh-li Ong was awarded a visa in 2005 by the DHS and American Federation of Musicians; an O1 visa given only to Artists of Extraordinary Ability.
Combining business expertise to provide a one-stop service was the thrust of the alliance, with Xenovibes as a vehicle to promote Shueh-li's interest in live performance techniques and the such with John as her USA counterpart. FMP was formed late 2004 to accommodate their common projects. The publishing arm of FMP was established in 1999. Electric Muse was established in 1998.
Their joint efforts have also produced the

~ Chris Stack, MoogMusic
"I really enjoy your music, it is not often I come across something that is totally different from most of what I have heard before and your's certainly is, I really can’t say you sound like anyone.
I really was very pleasantly surprised by your music; it prompted me to purchase Good Vibrations. You made a great version of a pivotal piece of music!"
~ Mike Brunt, Hermosa Beach, CA.
Michelle Moog-Koussa, Exec Director, Moog Foundation.'Many thanks to Xenovibes for their gesture of suppport of the Bob Moog Foundation through the donation of part of the proceeds from their original rendition of ‘Good Vibrations’. My father always enjoyed hearing musicians express their creativity in new ways. In that vein, Xenovibes certainly makes this song their own, mixing elements of the original song with contemporary nuances. We encourage you to download this special version of the timeless classic and support Xenovibes and the Bob Moog Foundation. Enjoy!'
