Band Members: My name is Philip Neidlinger.....pleased to meet you!I am graying, 45 year old Husband, Father, Electrical Engineer, poet, astronomer, Cub Scout Den Leader, amateur radio enthusiast, good friend, and for the past two years the most important thing to me besides my God and family has been the study of the theremin.Somehow I became interested in this instrument in October 2005 (don't exactly remember how now), and haven't looked back ever since. All my other interests/hobbies are secondary. This instrument has changed my life. Two years ago I would have laughed at you if you told me I'd be taking up the study of an instrument.I was recently listed as an Honorable Mention in the Neo-Classical Category for the 2007 Spellbound Awards. I was and remain, mystified as to their reasoning, but I'm not complaining either.I love this instrument.
Influences: Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior, Sheri Neidlinger, My Mother, Kevin Kissinger, Lydia Kavina, Peter Pringle, Uncle Howard Mossman, Andy Baron, Mark Keppinger, Sarah Purvis my daughter, and my son Jordan who tells me I play pretty music.
Sounds Like: Angels singing in the Heavenly Firmament......Ahem...
Record Label: Warning: 20,000 Ohms!
Type of Label: None

On a diet

Sheri and I are officially on a diet now. I am entirely too heavy. I was almost wider than Gabriella for those of you who met me in Asheville at Etherfest. I'm hungry!! My goal is to drop about 50 lbs...

More tweaking

Working on Gabriella's volume oscillator calibration. Now the volume loop can be approached and the ambient tones go away. No thumping either when touching the loop. The sound is still incredible and ...

Gabriella Work

I put in some shop time and I believe I have cured the longstanding problem of high frequency garbage, fuzziness, etc. I inserted a grid heater circuit "hum bias" potentiometer, about 100 ohms, 2 watt...

New piece

"Twilight Time" aired on Spellbound last weekend. The recording quality is still not there, so have to work on that a bit. I am starting to work on "Dream a Little Dream of Me."

Twilight TIme Redux

I've posted another try at Twilight Time. This version is better, IMHO....a lot less glissing, fewer missed notes. I think this will probably be my best effort for awhile. PAN...

Twilight TIme

I've been working on Twilight Time as an accompaniment piece. Still not quite perfect enough---the one currently on my profile has too many glisses in it, but it still sounds passable. The background ...

Gabbys Legs

Gabby's legs are still too long. We lopped two inches off them today. The issue that is of concern is that my volume loop arm (left) may be injured again if we do not have the proper posture. We've ta...

More Gabriella Photographs are now up

I've posted a large number of photographs of Gabriellas installation in her new cabinet. There were just too many to put on a webpage. Goto http://www.flickr.com and type in my user name panelectronic...

Etherfest 2008 - Gabriella meets the world

Just returned home from Etherest 2008. Just about every big name artist who attended played Gabriella. Lydia was first. I am ecstatic as the voicing of this theremin, that I have put a year of m...
