Inspired by European dance sounds, seasoned with American rock, David walks the grey space inbetween.
David is a one man band based in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri. Classically trained on the piano since age 5, he first began writing songs in high school and joined his first band, The Situation, his senior year. Leaving for college, he took advantage of emerging technology to begin recording on his own in 1987.
He released his first public album, Chivalry, in 1992, which was very well received in his college home of Peoria, Illinois, as well as on the fledgling Internet. After Affection and Lust in 1994, David retired from music to pursue a career in computers, and ended up being really unhappy. He returned in 1999 with an instrumental set, One Swell Foop, and rediscovered the underground electro scene on the World Wide Web. In 2002 David produced his comeback album, Calliope, which received much positive press.
David is presently in the studio working on his brand new album, Your Mileage May Vary. In the mean time, enjoy the singles, "A Man of My Word (The Wedding Song)" and "Rubber Raft", available for download here at MySpace.com! Also visit David's web site, where you can download remixes of "A Man of My Word" by Hajas and Chinese Theatre.
David hosts the weekly Internet radio show Spellbound, a brief program of music for theremin , Sunday nights at 10 PM ET on Cygnus Radio .
For five years, he also hosted Escape From Noise , a program of independent vocal electronica. He is presently at work developing Different Drummers, a new radio program featuring rare and unusual instruments, to debut in the fall or winter of 2007.
