Before I start, a friend of mine has entered the Radiohead's remix competition for their track "Nude", and I was wondering if you could click on "Vote" in the box below.
You can vote daily, so come back...well daily and vote again!
Hey, you can even click on the play button and listen to it if you like!
Voting ends on May 1st. So we appreciate your votes. The only thing left is to click on the "Vote" button below! Go on, do it! You know you want to!
A few things to start with:
I listen to Live 88.5fm in Ottawa, Ontario
After the Big Money Shot, Live are about to take a step forward into the community and provide the indie scene with another great resource, THE LIVE LOUNGE.
Each Saturday Night, DJ Noah will take ownership of the dance floor and pump out the Saturday Night Hard Drive, live from the Live Lounge.
And each week on Fridays, local indie bands will have a chance to take the stage in The Indie Sessions, hosted by Jen Traplin.
To see who's playing this Friday, click on the image below and scroll down the page.
(Thanks to Live and Scott Switzer for use of the above images).
I have a very warped sense of humour
I like my sports
Leafs SUCK! (Oh! did I say that out loud? There goes my sense of humour again!)
I get up on a Sunday morning to watch F1
I get up on a Saturday morning and could watch the EPL all day (if I was allowed!)
I like my music (1400 CD's and counting)
My iPod is filled with as much of the contents of said CD's (14000 out of 18000 available)
That's it for now. I'm messing with this daily, so it should become more coherent and flashy as time goes on (at least that's the hope!)
Large too baggie? Medium too small? Next time your in a clothes store, ask the staff if they have an "Extra Medium" and watch the confused look on their face! :)
(Thanks to Billy Connolly for that gem!)
Here's the Football (Soccer) Team I have supported since I was a boy.
I've followed F1 since the late seventies, and I was a big supporter of Jordan, but once Eddie sold the team I've reverted back to Williams. I followed them in the Alan Jones/Keke Rosberg era.
The 2008 car (FW30), looks like it's a step forward. Here's hoping for some more great results like Australia!
Thanks to owners of these photgraphs. Hope you don't mind me using them.
In all that time, and the study of drivers past, my favourite driver is Ayrton Senna. Partially because of timing. Before Senna arrived in F1, there were a myriad of fantastic and charasmatic drivers, Fangio, Ascari, Surtees, Jimmy Clark, and Graham Hill, were all before my time and although I have great appreciation for them, I could not get that connection. Some like James Hunt, Jones, Rosberg, Andretti, Gilles Villeneuve, Fittipaldi all stradled the Seventies and Early Eighties, but it wasn't until the quartet of Senna, Piquet, Prost, and Mansell got together that it was such a spectacular time when you had four superb drivers battling it out every race. Even in later years after his passing in 1994, Michael Schumacher has gone onto take hold of seven World Championships, and countless records, but lets face it, He built the teams with his men and basically turned Ferrari into a one car team with all the resourses directed towards him (I'm not blaming Schumacher for this, who wouldn't do it given the opportunity). Also you have to look at the quality of the competition he has had during that time. Let's face it, He had Mika Hakkinnen for a couple of years and in the recent past, Fernando Alonso. Beyond those two, only Jacques Villeneuve for one season. I'm not saying Schumacher isn't a good driver, but look at the competition. Here's a link to Aryton's Official Website
Since his death at Imola on May 1st, 1994, his foundation has provided for many project directed mainly towards the children of Brazil. He was a hero there, and around the world
You can also find many websites on the crash itself and Ayrton's Life and Legacy (Wikipedia). There are many sites also devoted to conspiracy theories surrounding his fatal crash. I was a sad event for me and one where I remember where I was when I heard the news. RIP Ayrton.
I saw my first NFL game in the early eighties on TV in the UK. I was hooked! It was the Superbowl, so I decided to follow the winning team. It was the Raiders. The problem is they've won nothing since, but they are still my team. Crazy, Stupid, or just RAIDER FAN! BRING ON NEXT YEAR!
As I consider now Ottawa my home, it's only right that I support the home town hockey team, the Ottawa Senators (if only the guys could get it right in the playoffs!!!)
