Charles felt in love with music after trying a drumset at age 6 at his baby-sitter's home. Unfortunately, he went there for only a year so he had to wait until high school to have the chance to be in contact with musical instruments again. It is only at the age of fifteen that he really started to play drums.
From there he never looked back and followed his dream. Charles did his music studies in college and university. Trough the whole process, in order to make a living, he began to teach drums in private music schools. At his second year of university, freelance recordings and live performances for singers started to happen more and more frequently.
In 2002, he met guitar player Samuel Gauthier and keyboardist Marie-Michelle Beausoleil, who became, with bassist Jean-David Levesque, his bandmates in a television show houseband. Working on that TV show gave him the opportunity to play for many of the most influential artists of the moment and to be referred on some gigs by other musicians.
One month after the end of the television contract in april 2006, Charles received a call from Your Favorite Enemies, who were then looking for a drummer in order to play a showcase for a major music label. One week after, the band was playing the showcase and had already proposed Charles to be a member of the family.
