ANOTHER PROJECT THAT FEATURES THE TALENTED BUTTA B IS THE COMPILATION ALBUM “SEE YOU AT THE TOP”BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE VERSATILLY TALENTED PRODUCER BWAR (GUERRA RECORDS.COM) IN STORES AUG.22, 2006.THE INTERVIEW WITH GERMANY FRONT TO BACK MAGAZINEcode:Known for the beautiful countryside, beaches and legal smoking, Jamaica has some other great qualities. Especially introducing Reggae artists to the world of music. The last year there came out another talented musician from Kingston, Jamaica. Butta B doesn’t make that type of music you know from Jamaica. He combines Dancehall with Hip Hop Reggae to a new powerful sound. This new and distinctive sound, which Butta delivers, shows us a new side of music influenced by Jamaican lifestyle and American life. Front2Back: You are born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. Do you write about your childhood and all your experiences during this time? Yes, some of my material reflects the lifestyle of my life in Kingston. You are also connected with the Dallas Hip Hop scene right? How did you come up with the Dallas Hip Hop scene and how did that influenced you on your way? I did an audition for 97.9 the Hip Hop radio station in Dallas, Texas. It opened the doors for performances at local clubs as well as features with other local artist. How’s your situation with regard to a record deal or something like that? I am not signed to any label at this time but still have my demo circulating waiting for the right offer. Can you describe your daily routine of your day? Get up and grind all day everyday. Music is a way of life for me so therefore that’s all I do. What do you expect from the future and the rap game? With my debut album titled “Diversified” coming soon I am expecting to find a place in the rap/reggae game as for the future of rap I think it will be around for a long time. We need more record labels to open their doors to new artist to carry the movement of rap / hip hop / reggae. Do you think there should be more rappers which are rapping for the love and not only for the money? Your craft should be done first for the love and trust me the money will follow. At last can you tell us what you always carry with you when you are in the studio? A pad sometimes and a Redbull to get that vibe going

Band Members:THE INTERVIEW WITH L3 MAGAZINE IS BELOW CHECK IT OUTFrom Yard to Texas! Butta B www.myspace.com/L3MagazineHis music is speaks for itself! He is currently experiencing multiple spins on radio, and has worked with a host of independent artists from the Texas area. Texas will never be the same again…. It’s the invasion of Butta B!L3: In your bio, you describe yourself as a writer first, then Artist. Do you think the lyrics come first, then the music? BB: It’s a 50/50 take. Sometimes I have the lyrics ready to go, and I’m waiting for the right producer to lay the right beats, then sometimes it’s the other way around where I get the beat and have to build lyrics to it. Ultimately, it’s 50/50.L3: Your music, particularly the track “Girl U So”, has so much energy! Is this a reflection of Butta B’s personality? BB: Just a little. It reflects my on stage personality. Privately, I’m a little laid back! On stage I’m a beast!L3: You have performed in front of many people. Describe the feeling you have in your heart and soul when you perform for an audience. BB: When you’re recording in the booth, it’s a little different because you’re working with your own energy, or the energy of the engineer. When I’m on stage, I connect with the fans, and I feed off of their energy. There’s a very deep connection – very deep performance!L3: What would you say has been one of your better experiences with a fan on stage? BB: Last year I performed in front of 2500 people. Some of them didn’t know my music, but they were bobbing their heads and feeling it same way. That was a better experience for me because the fans were feeling my music, even though they didn’t know it. That was crazy cool!L3: You have collaborated with many artists, especially from the Texas area. Describe the energy/creative process when you collaborate. BB: When you collaborate, it’s different from a solo joint. The other artists are bringing their energy to the booth, and that has to work well with your own energy otherwise the outcome may not be what you want or expect. Both of you have to come with your “A” game, and know what to deliver. Don’t just walk in the booth and deliver anything. Come correct because that may be the one track that the right person hears – you never know.L3: Are there any artists you would like to collaborate with? BB: I would definitely like to work with Jr. Gong, Capleton and Buju Banton. Those three are at the top of my list of people to work with!L3: You name Capleton to Bob Marley as being influences in your career and your style. Out of the many artists, is there any one you would say most influenced you? BB: I respect all of the artists who have influenced me. It’s hard for me to name the one who has had the most influence, but, if I had to choose, I would have to say Capleton. I grew up listening to him, and I think the energy he brings to every performance is what has stayed with me over the years!L3: Would you say living in Texas has given you the best of both worlds? You have the advantage of being a born Jamaican, and the benefit of living in America; would you say it’s the best of both worlds? BB: I would say so! Being here, you pick up on the American slang, so you can drop that in the music which gives me and my music an edge. I can jump on a Hip Hop beat, and not sound forced on it - which is cool. I think I have the best of both worlds fo sho!L3: You write music drawing from your experiences in Life. Would you say your experiences have been “Diversified” hence the name of your album? If not, tell us how you came up with the name, and what influenced the album? BB: No. The name came about because of the music on the album. It’s not straight dancehall, and it’s not straight Hip Hop, it’s Diversified! It’s not full of Love chunes, and it’s not full of hardcore chunes; it’s just diversified!L3: We understand chunes from your album Diversified is getting a lot of spins on radio. Tell us about that! BB: We’re not only getting spins in Texas, but in England, France, Italy – mainly all over Europe!L3: Would you agree that sometimes you get your big break from overseas before your hometown recognizes you? BB: For me that is so true. Right now, you have radio stations that are playing artists from different states before they play their own artists. For me, I’m doing Reggae, but Texas is not big on Reggae right now, so most of my spins are coming from abroad (like I said earlier). Sometimes other countries and other cultures accept you before your own.L3: If you ever owned your own radio station, would you allow that practice to continue? BB: No! That would definitely have to end. If I owned my own radio station, I would have to play local talent as well as national and international talent – that would be a must. There is too much good music out there to just stick to one kind. Music is universal – right?!L3: Your myspace page has picked up over 70,000 visits! How do you feel about your fans and those who have supported you so far?! BB: I Love my fans! I Love them to death. Without them, there would be no Butta B, so much Love to all my fans – worldwide!L3: What can your fans expect from your album Diversified? BB: They can expect nothing but the best! I’ve been working on it for quite some time, making sure that everything is just right and perfect!L3: What advice or words can you give our readers on Life, Love, Lyrics? BB: Life is too short – live it right. Love, you have to take it and run with it, but when you run, make sure you wrap it up. Lyrics – keep it clean. You can get grimey at times, but remember you have kids listening to your music, so try to keep it clean. You never know which young one is looking at you as a hero! For more information on Butta B: www.myspace.com/buttab1© Copyright L3 Magazine 2007. All Rights Reserved. ..
