Squat·ter
n. (-te~r):
A small furry creature with a love of making dirty breaks, spinning fire and capoeira
Playing with loops and simple sequencers was an absorbing hobby that squatter would return to over and again, but it wasn't until a sunny day sat at the Big Chill festival that he had a bit of a revelation about what he should be doing with his life.
Within a few weeks he'd quit the day job, moved house, and was sitting in lectures learning how to produce properly. It was time for a montage...
That was at the end of 2005; now, still finding his feet and his sound, squatter has built up a collection of dark, squiggly, driving tracks and is starting to gain attention... some of it's good.
His first vinyl release is out .. Breaks Records, 1st October.
What people have said about squatter's music:
"the sound of the upcoming apocalypse, from the perspective of an inside out rat chewing space dust cakes"
"the noise that sounds like it's being passed through pasta machines while a smurf bites its ankle"
"Squatter returns with three new and awesome tracks! This producer brings a new and unique sound to house and breaks! Enjoy this vibe because it sure is different!"
"Good noise twit"
"it is interesting, not a tune as such"
"stompy solid bass beat, good. I like that"
"fuck, you forgot the cowbell"
"I love this tune its an absolute belter cant, fat funky and interesting"
"a great idea, but a fucking horrible sound!!!"
"a really nice retro digital feel"
"that plinky noise in background is starting to make me spin a little"
"Loving the duck big time, nice uplifting and good sounds, well gelled, slick and flowing, hard and saucy"
"it made my head hurt"
"arrrggh how am i supposed to look cool when i dance to this if it changes so much"
