40 Miles is the second killer album by Roger Greenaway. After tracking each of the songs personally in his own home studio, Roger pulled in the expertise of Venn Productions’ Dave Holmes (Gramsci, Jacob, Autozamm) to help him round it out. They then recruited Jasper de Roos to lay down some incredible drums and later, Oliver Emmitt for a trombone cameo.
It’s a collection of songs based on reflection, introspection, personal growth, the future – subjects not uncommon amongst the singer/songwriter set, but of course the difference between a diary entry and a pop song is... the music. It’s wry, classic, catchy and not without its nods to various formative influences from the 60’s and 70’s. It’s about arriving at a destination having measured a life’s journey in miles.
