Check out our myspace.Dust n' Bones is a three piece rock band, playing everything from acoustic country, to hard rock. We have been together for a year an a half, and after a lot of local gigs, and some around nz, and a few TV performances, we are looking to the studio this year. Do you play live? we play around local bars, we've also done biker rally's, student party's, etc. We Love It! you gotta love the music cos somedays it sure don't love you. How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry? it makes it a lot easier for people to access music, and find new bands, and if music is good enough, people will buy it to support the artists they love. Band History: forming a year and a half ago from the ashes of commercial 500 (dunedin) and elvenstar (chch, Jester learnt to play from south island guitar legend 'Ricardo Livisone' who was in elvenstar with him, and is currently in Living Dust (check them out below!)). dust n bones quickly played a lot of local gigs, loosing there first drummer to the Scurvy Dogs, they tried a few others but they often fell to the wayside unable to keep up with the gigging or the drinking. but have now settled on Ash, who seems to be fitting in well. Jae Bedford and the Jester form the core of the band, with Jae taking lead vocals and guitar duties, and Jester taking bass and BV's. initial song writing fell to Jae, but now jester does his share as well. and we are looking to the studio in a few months with a bit of luck. Highlights from the last year include... Playing a biker rally last year, with the Scurvy Dogs, after a good gig, and lots of booze, Jae arm wrestled a bar full of bikers, and only lost once... In feb last year, Living Dust came down from chch, and did a gig with us at the Jam Jar, which ended in an hour an a half jam with Jester jumping up on Bass for LD. On our south island tour, we played in chch with Rock n Roll band '80 Proof' who liked to drink almost as much as us. the after gig partying went through the night and most of the next day.... Our personal influences are too broad to describe, with Jae mainly centered in 80s Rock, and country music, and Jester firmly set in 70's rock, and heavy metal. the music itself is influenced by Guns n Roses, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Cliff Burton and a good dose of Bob Dylan. Equipment used: Jester plays a rickenbacker bass, with a Double Muff Distortion pedal, and a H an K valve amp. Jae plays a Les Paul copy, through the 'shred o matic'. Ash plays... (to be confirmed, my memory fails me)
