About Me

Tauranga/New Zealand based Singer/Songwriter... Am Currently recording a SECOND ALBUM. 'OUTSIDE MY SQUARE' is my DEBUT album, and was recorded in 2004, it was a very experimental, self funded/released project, and I learnt a lot on the way...The new album is being recorded at 'EIEIO RECORDINGS' by the absolutely gorgeous Tracie and Brian de jong in the tranquil country setting of Pongakawa New Zealand, check out their website thru www.traciedejong.com , this album will have a whole new sound, more stripped back and a more intimate energy...more me...Prior to this I performed in the contemporary acoustic jazz duo OSCAR, with Tim Cooper (superb guitarist) performing regulary at Jazz festivals around the north Island and we released a covers album 'RAW' www.cdbaby.com/oscarmusic and also performed at these festivals as a vocalist with 'INSTINCT' . I love the studio...no idea when the album will be complete, I am just going with the process....Kim Janelle Ward........................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ......................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ................................................ U-G-A.com/Kim Ward’s “Outside My Square” is a work of diversity that highlights Ms. Wards numerous talents of sonic-sound & mood“Embrace Yourself” with its Acoustic Guitar introduction of Major Sevenths & Minor Ninths, is like looking through a kaleidoscope at ghostly images ; Haunting the soul in a beatific mannerThe mind of the listener might at first hear a drop of the water fountain of swirling colors via Annie Lennox ; But it’s only a passing first impression, as one travels the audio road of Kim Ward’s muse“Break Them Down” welcomes one with major & minor chord configurations & suspended tunings, which is a promising relief for a weary audiophile who’s sick & tired of the often used basic major chordsSo it’s obviously unique in our humble estimation, that Kim Ward’s musical vision is of an expanding universe, scarcely heard, but continuingly longed for“From This” is an atmospheric & ethereal jaunt, augmented with a unique time signature & Synthesized Bowed Strings in the backgroundKim Ward’s Voice with its delicate reverb underpinnings, is a stamp of originality that beckons us with a Siren sound quality ; Bewitchingly & magnetically calling out on the horizon : A beacon of light shines forth like a moon at high tideKim stands at the periphery of international media ; A true artist whose time has come to fill the world with her sultry & enthralling compositions
