About Me

My name is Robert Michael Madsen, and I was born in Chicago Illinois, at the age of six my family moved to Brookfield Wisconsin, where I grew up in a wonderful loving home. I have two younger sisters that I am very proud of for all their accomplishments; I love them with all my heart. I would have to say my parents, were the best parents anyone could possibly have, they were always involved in everything we did growing up and always there to support us in all of our choices, good or bad. My mother tells me at six years old I picked up a guitar they had bought me, and that is where my passion for music began. I taught myself to play the guitar and began singing Beatles songs by 8 years old. Throughout the next ten years I was involved in many sports and other school clubs, but my interest in music always came first. By the time I was eighteen, I was involved in a band that played at local clubs, making just enough money to pay the bills. That is when I decided to put my dreams on hold and pursue a business idea that would eventually prove to be both long term and very profitable. It required me to move to Florida, where I soon fell in love, got married and had two daughters. My wife and I worked for years building the business I had established and then in July of 2004 my father passed away suddenly from an aortic aneurysm, he was sixty-two years old. I was extremely close to my father and this was devastating to me. Then in November of 2005 I was diagnosed with a disease that would eventually cause lung damage. My pulmonologist advised me to move out of Florida because the climate was worse for my condition, he suggested that I move to Southern Colorado or Arizona because it is much drier there, I decided to move back to where I grew up ,“Wisconsin”. In February of 2008 I started writing music again; the first song was in memory of my father, who always wanted me to follow my musical dreams, that song is called “So Many Ways”. I have written many songs, since that first one in February, I’ve had many years of life experiences to inspire my songwriting, some are good and some were bad. I have always been involved in helping others less fortunate. I’m also big into saving this troubled planet of ours, you will hear songs about these issues on my new CD.God blessRobert Michael Madsen ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ********************************The great teachings unanimously emphasize that all the peace, wisdom, and joy in the universe are already within us; we don't have to gain, develop, or attain them. We're like a child standing in a beautiful park with his eyes shut tight. We don't need to imagine trees, flowers, deer, birds, and sky; we merely need to open our eyes and realize what is already here, who we really are -- as soon as we quit pretending we're small or unholy.

Sounds Like: Homelessness is one of our nation’s most misunderstood and vexing social problems. In January 2005, according to the most recent data available, an estimated 744,313 people experienced homelessness. Homelessness does not discriminate. Families with children, single adults, teenagers, and elderly individuals of all races struggle with the devastating effects of homelessness. Homelessness exists across the country, in small rural towns, suburban neighborhoods, and large metropolises. The primary cause of homelessness is a lack of affordable housing. Over 5 million low-income households have serious housing problems due to high housing costs, substandard housing conditions, or both.Domestic violence is the immediate cause of homelessness for many women and children. In November 2006, over 22,000 victims of domestic violence—12,000 children and 10,000 adults—received housing services from 1,243 domestic violence service providers. Domestic violence victims are often isolated from support networks and financial resources by their abusers, meaning they may lack steady income, employment and credit histories, and landlord references. Safe and stable housing is the most immediate need for survivors of domestic violence to prevent them from staying with their abuser or sleeping on the streets.Youth homelessness is disturbingly common. Although the prevalence of youth homelessness is difficult to measure, researchers estimate that about 5 to 7.7 percent of youth experience homelessness each year. The same factors that contribute to adult homelessness, such as poverty, lack of affordable housing, low education levels, unemployment, mental health, and substance abuse, can lead to homelessness among youth. Beyond these factors, youth homelessness is largely a reflection of family breakdown. While the problem of homelessness seems daunting, we can end homelessness in our nation. The goal may seem bold, but it is achievable
