About Me

Thanks for your interest in Punk For Peace.
Established in February 2007, our goal is to promote and sell music we love while providing support to non-profit organizations.
At least 10% of our total profit will be used to support the non-profit organizations.
If you would like to suggest an organization for us to support, please send us a message and let us know.
Organizations we have donated money to so far:
African Well Fund
Building Hope... One Well At A Time
Amnesty International
Working To Protect Human Rights Worldwide
Co-op America
Global Research And Action To Stop Corporate Abuse
Military Free Zone
Ending militarism around the world starts with ending militarism at home.
Oxfam America
Oxfam America is committed to creating lasting solutions to global poverty, hunger, and social injustice.
Plea For Peace Foundation
To promote the ideas of peace through the power of music.
The Save Darfur Coalition
Crucial awareness and advocacy programs that play a critical role in building the political pressure needed to end the crisis in Darfur.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

At Punk For Peace we try to do what is best for the environment in everything we do. First of all, we reuse everything we possibly can. All packaging and packaging materials, when available will be reused to ship your order. This principal also allows us to keep shipping costs as low as possible. If we can't reuse it, we recycle it.
The packing materials we buy are the best options we have found so far. They are all 100% recycleable and we hope that you will recycle them. They include:
4" x 9.5" envelopes (100% recycled, 100% post consumer waste)
6" x 9" envelopes (20% post consumer waste)
9" x 12" envelopes (100% recycled, 40% post consumer waste)
If know of somewhere we can get envelopes with higher recycled percentages at a decent price, please let us know.
We buy 100% renewable electricity from the Energy Cooperative of New York, a member owned, not for profit cooperative. All of our lights are energy efficient compact fluorescent bulbs, and we try to keep everything off when not in use.
All trips to the post office are made with my (Ken's) car, a honda civic hybrid, which is the third greenest car of 2007. To reduce excess driving, only one trip to the post office is made per day.
Please let us know if you have any ideas on how we can be more environmentally conscience.
