The saying 'hard work pays off' has never rung more true than it does in the case of Edmonton’s newest pop-rock claim to fame No More Parachute. The evidence of hard work is quite imminent when picking up the bands debut release 'Etiquette', produced by Stew Kirkwood (Jason Plumb, Devilsplender, Smoothride) at Sound Extractor and mastered by Mike Fossenkemper (Get Up Kids, Snoop Dogg, Over It) at Turtle Tone Studios. The sounds that will consume your earphones are of catchy sing-a-long choruses, driving riffs and pounding beats from start to finish.
The band is compromised of four best friends Kirk LeBlanc (Bass), Darcy LeBlanc (Guitar), Andrew Nixon (Drums) and Lionel St. Germain (Vocals). The group independently released the disc in August of 2007 to a sold out crowd of 300+ at Avenue Skatepark in Edmonton. Not only has the release already garnered label attention but it has also been the stepping-stone for the band to begin booking a tour that will span of across the country and launch themselves into the eyes and ears of thousands of listeners. The commitment, passion, and positive attitude are evident in their live show and debut recording.
At this point the band is willing to give it their all in planning for their second national tour, with plans of a North American tour for the spring of 2008. Already a prolific band, they are currently writing their next album and have no plans of sitting back and riding on their recent achievements. Taking the proper time to build up a strong fan base, impressive show resume, and an extremely explosive poppy sounding album has put No More Parachute in the right position to keep momentum running high.
