About Me

Line-up:
Cenobites was founded January 1994 as a trio consisting of Alien – guitar and singer, Horrible Hak – double bass and Creepy Kiel – drums. But like with all bands this line-up did not last very long. So bassplayer and guitarists came and went until P.G. Vogeli joined them in the summer of ’95 and guitarplayers Jeff and Michell in ’99. Because Alien did not just play guitar but also was the singer, they had to find a replacement on vocals as well. They found the right guy in Dimitri. With this line-up they built up their current reputation. Just before a tour in Germany (2002) Jeff and Michel were replaced with Wally. So it was four of a kind until Kiel also left the band after ten years. Rudy Röss replaced him for a while. With him they recorded the "Snakepit Vibrations album", which he helped producing. He stayed with the band for about a year and a half till he found out that our thing was not his thing. Now Nik Reitsma is beating the cans like crazy. When they were recording "Blue Fandango" they ran into bad wheather again. Wally had some private business to take care off. He left the band and was replaced by Rudo, who had been playing in I-reject for a long time.br
Style:
Cenobites was influenced by fifties rocknroll, punkrock and raw psychobillybands, like Demented are Go, Motorhead, Exploited and Elvis. Over the years they developed their self-proclaimed cenodemonicsounds.
Shows:
Cenobites did a very respectable number of shows over the years in the Netherlands as well as internationally. Some of the highlights are: twice at the Callella summer meeting, the 9th big rumble in Great Yarmouth and Demons of the swamp in Rennes. They also have been touring in Brazil three times did a tour in Germany during the holidays of December 2002 and played the Wreckers Ball in L.A. in 2004. They played with acts like: Demented are Go, Mad Sin, Peter Pan Speedrock, U.S. Bombs, New Bomb Turks and many others.
Discography:
Because of their busy tourschedule they did not stay unnoticed by recordcompanies. The English Fury label released two compilation albums with Cenobites songs and Tombstone records released the first 10" simply called "Cenobites". Tocado records from Rotterdam released two compilation albums; one live and one studio comp. After these compilations they also released the "Girl in the woods" 7". The Belgian Drunkabilly label has released the first full-length called "Demons to some Angels to others". This album was released in June 2002 and was received very well. The album brought them a lot of shows in last 4 months of 2002, including a successful tour in Germany. In December 2003 they released a new three track single called "Secretum", also on Drunkabilly records. Fall 2005 they brought out a brandnew full length album called "Snakepit Vibrations". They are currently working on their latest killer product called "Blue Fandango"
