The Screaming Banshee Aircrew began life in 2001 as a four-piece alternative band based in the north of England. They are well renowned for their eclectic sound characterised by the combination of dirty guitars with intertwining male and female vocals, in addition to their inability to stick to any one musical style! Their first commercial album, "Fishnet Messiah", released in October 2004 on Resurrection Records, epitomises this with its wide range of material, from tongue in cheek humour to sombre ballads, and a fair sprinkling of dancefloor stompers. However, the feature for which the Screaming Banshee Aircrew are perhaps best known is the relentless energy of their stage show. They enjoy what they do and it shows! As a result, they have found themselves increasingly in demand and to date have performed all over the UK, and alongside a number of high profile European and US acts, including supporting The Birthday Massacre on the UK leg of their European tour last summer.
Since the autumn of 2006, however, SBA became
somewhat reclusive, choosing to retreat from the live
scene temporarily in order to concentrate on writing
and recording their new album "When All Is Said and
Done". This has been accompanied by a number of
lineup changes. Original members MisteR Ed (vocals),
Jo Violet (vocals and violin) and Xris Banshee
(guitar) are now joined by Tori Pink on bass, Neal
Unreal on keys and Tina Williams on drums. This
expanded lineup has leant their sound a rawer, punkier
edge, complementing the flamboyant nature of their
live shows. The new band made their debut performance
to an eager crowd at the Beyond the Veil Festival in
Leeds in 2007.. and have been rocking the UK since.
Whereever you may be, we want to do it for you.. and we probably shall.. come see us :)
