Where Love Lies Bleeding

About Me

What's in a name?

The Amaranth in myth is a deep red or purple, never fading flower and a symbol of immortality. It is unwithering, never changing, always beautiful. In ancient Greece the flower was thought to have special healing powers and was used to decorate images of the gods and tombs.

To call this flower by any other name, one would call it
Love Lies Bleeding.

And here in this moniker lies all my
fears, hopes and wistful dreams.

My website:

My LiveJournal:

There is a place where even time stands still. Where the fleeting moment is frozen for eternity, where memories which never happened crystallise to last forever. It is a world that does not exist and yet is described by a thousand slient words. Live this ephemeral perfection...

British born but South African bred, I find it difficult to separate the two. South Africa is in my blood and is where I fell in love with Goth. I moderate the following groups:

Myspace SA Goths
Live Journal: SA Goths

I'd like to meet:

The roses amongst the thorns

I'm afraid I do not always manage to get through all my requests, so please do message me to let me know you've sent one and why. I also 'tidy up' my friends list from time to time, feel free to message me if you have fallen off and wish to climb back aboard.

PS. I reserve the right to delete any copy and paste code picture comments and/or advertisements at my whim, if you have nothing interesting to say – say it anyway, it'll amuse me and I'll be sure to return the favour (I often have nothing to say but use dictionaries worth of words to say it in ;)

PPS. you may require a healthy sense of humour to survive interaction with me

Music:

GOTH (90s goth, goth rock, ethereal and some electronic goth): London After Midnight, Screaming Banshee Aircrew, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Empire Hideous, Faith & The Muse, The Awakening, Inkubus Sukkubus, Descendants Of Cain, Droning Maud Land, Frank The Baptist, Ikon, The Cruxshadows, Voices of Masada, Dreadful Shadows, Paralysed Age, Merry Thoughts, Rosetta Stone, The Last Dance...

Make me beautiful again
Cry my tears and vanish them
Whisper in my ear as I run away and hide
Pretend to be lovely

Abney Park

and the answer is none.
None more black

Television:

The Outer Limits

There is nothing wrong with your browser.
Do not attempt to adjust the picture.
I am now in control of the transmission.
I control the horizontal and the vertical.
I can deluge you with a thousand ideas,
or expand one single image
to crystal clarity and beyond.
I can shape your vision to anything
my imagination can conceive.
For the next few moments,
I will control all that you see and hear...

Books:

Almost everything by Storm Constantine and Poppy Brite, and most certainly Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman...

If you take the small view, the universe is just something small and round, like those water-filled balls which produce a miniature snowstorm when you shake them. Although, unless the ineffable plan is a lot more ineffable than it's given credit for, it does not have a large plastic snowman at the bottom.

Heroes:

My Grandmother
Morticia Addams
Honest, moral people
