Our first gig as Tetchi was in the Summer of 2003, at an event we helped organise as part of Hebden Bridge Arts Festival, Electronica-fest. At that point we were a purely-electronic two-piece band. Later that Summer we were spotted playing by a drummer, hankering for something new, and thus started something of a habit in acquiring new members.
Since then we've been joined by a flautist/keyboard player, a percussionist and a bassist to become a six-strong striding mammoth of aural pleasure...er..or something. Various combinations of members have played Tetchi gigs at, among others, Glastonbury, Solfest and Knockengorroch, and 2006 saw us headlining at Beat-herder and Northern Green Gathering.
Our first self-produced CD, EP1, was released in March 2004 and snippets can be found on the music page, as well as in the Tetchi shop. Soon after that saw the release of a combined CD and CD-ROM package with other artists from Electronica-Fest. 2005 saw our first release on a label, the 'Eclectica' compilation CD from Cone Records, along with a couple of remixes for them.
We've usually gained members and become a different band by the time we've recorded and mixed a demo. We've now got material ready to release early 2007, but we'll tell you all about that when you're older.
