About Me

"You don’t get to hear a band like Falconetti very often. From first EP Oceanography to the latest Finisterre EP, they’re creating a massively spacious sound for themselves and anyone else who cares to listen. We could wheel out the old ’sonic cathedrals’ line, but frankly that wouldn’t do ’em justice. They really have to be heard to be appreciated."

“Elegant soundscapes, dreamy and atmospheric: an exercise in expansion and resolution. Beautifully accompanied by singing voice, trumpet or strings, it walks that fine line between playfulness and weird drone. This music has clarity, purity and intelligence - the filmic quality leaves you wondering what great images went with the sound and if they were as good as those in my head.”
- Sophie Kemp, Sandman Magazine
“There’s enough grace, sinew and primeval mass here to deserve being the main thing in your brain. ’Straits of Messina’ is a soundscape of strings and backgrounded guitars, until an uplifting sunrise-like passage of trumpet concerto shoots a bright ray in the direction of Miles Davis’s Spain. ’Magna Via’ is beautiful and moving - and plays the biggest geographical trick: it refers not to something in the heart of the Roman Empire, but to Falconetti’s own heartland and surrounding wildernesses. A firm statement of how there’s some impressive territory nearer than you’d think, and in far greater quantity than you’d imagine. 8/10”
- John Hepworth, Leeds Music Scene
"A Falconetti track is to your standard single release what Da Vinci’s Michelangelo is to a set of Handy Andy’s MDF shelves. Every note is hewn from pure musical marble, perfect and pristine. Maybe now Falconetti will finally be appreciated for the jewel that they undoubtedly are."
- Tasty Fanzine
"Magna Via is a great journey across landscapes of lovely reverb cliffs and lakes of delay … delicious repetitive bass lines … truly outstanding production. I was blown away, moved by the strings in Straits of Messina. It’s all fantastic. This EP is a triumph."
- Mono Magazine
"Welcome to a world that is strangely familiar - one that is hard to escape while living in this city, yet one that is rarely as well expressed by artists, musicians and writers as it is by Falconetti. This can be confirmed with one hearing of the opening track of their latest EP, Finisterre . Falconetti have forged a path through the thistle-packed path of "post-rock" and have come out somewhere on the other side few knew existed."
