Granadaland

Second FRIDAY of every month at The Love Apple.

About Me

Granadaland started off as a monthly clubnight at the Love Apple in January 2006. After growing in popularity we moved from the second Thursday of the month to the Second Friday. Granadaland was started to kick start the local music scene by brining the hottest up coming bands to Bradford and to put on a club night that was unlike any other in the city. Nearly two years later and the club night is still going strong. We feel that we are achieving our original goal and feel that we have some what contributed to the exciting and happening Bradford music scene.
With more time on our hands we are starting to put on more gigs in the city. These gigs will feature signed touring bands that are unable to play our regular clubnight for logistical reasons. Watch out for special events.
In early 2007 Granadaland and Mono (Bradford music fanzine) formed BD1 LiVE. Collectively our aim is to bring bigger signed bands to play the prestigious Victorian concert Hall that is St George's Hall. So far the project has been a success with the likes of British Sea Power, iLiKETRAiNS and Forward Russia playing. We are already planning some very special shows for 2008.
Granadaland is also involved in the management of Bradford's very own Laura Groves. Laura's debut single, I AM LEAVING, was released on the 15th October on XL/Salvia records. We hosted the single launch at the New Beehive Inn. Other bands on the Granadaland management roster are Fourteen Corners and Spodni Pradlo.
Some Bands to have played at events that we have been involved in:
I was a Cub Scout, Forward Russia, To My Boy, Hot Club De Paris, Jeremy Warmsley, British Sea Power, iLiKETRAiNS, Wild Beasts, Sky Larkin, Wolf and Cub, The Twilight Sad, Frightened Rabbit, Fourteen Corners, The Hot Puppies, Grammatics, Shut Your Eyes........, 586, Laura Groves, Napoleon IIIrd, Fourteen Corners, This Et AL, Kamakino, Duels, The Sugars, Ruby Tombs, Redcarsgofaster, Darlings of the Split Screen, Rochelle, Mother Vulpine, Sports Day Megaphone, Nic Nell, Heads We Dance, Le Tournoi, Jon Jones and The Beatniks Movement, The Lodger, Monty Casino, Benjamin Wetheril, White Light Parade, The Swing Movement, Falconetti, Lab Noise, The Fineline and Redwire to name but a few.
