COME AND GET DIRTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!ROCKERS & ROLLERS REVIEW: Rockers and Rollers @ The Beehive 31st August www.distortreason.co.uk"Entering the Beehive for the first time is an unusual experience; in fact very similar to the feeling you got as a small child walking into York Dungeon, looking around at the strange faux stone walls and gargoyles with curiosity and perhaps slight trepidation. From the outside it looks like a standard dingy pub; but as you walk in down the dark stairs, and actually enter the place, although it is still pretty dingy, it has a style that definitely fits the place and the theme of the Rockers and Rollers night. Peeling paint, off-centre, faded paintings, low lighting and huge barrel tables suit the atmosphere and the pub/night is clearly popular by the groups of (forgive the stereotyping) mods, rockers and punks that fill the place. You can see why. The music that plays between bands and on into the night is a great mix of indie, garage, rock and punk; not too heavy and not too soft, while being really upbeat and good to dance to."
