Max Hall - Dance Music Producer and Remixer

About Me

LATEST NEWS AND STUFF.
With a catalog of tracks covering virtually every genre, chances are something from Sheffield, UK producer Max Hall is being played somewhere around the clock. Already having established himself in the UK and Japan on the strength of a series of radio and ringtone hits, Sheffield, UK-producer Max Hall's 20-year career in the electronica realm has seen him build a constellation of collaborators, perform numerable live gigs and a capture the attentions of a network of fans of underground music the world over....
Max is currently working hard with his band ::NauticDive:: we have just finished recording our second album and are now in rehearsals getting our live set ready to take on the road in 2007.
A BRIEF HISTORY
It all started in 1981 when Max Hall was was Given a Zx81 computer for a Christmas present! Max was instantly bitten by the computer bug and was addicted for many years to come, Max started out by Programming games for the Zx81, Then later the Zx Spectrum. The turning point came with the release of the Commodore 64 home computer. The fact that you could make Synth music from a small 8 bit computer fascinated Max and he Promptly set about producing music demos written entirely on the C64 S.I.D Chip! When Max left school it was time to try and get his music produced professionally, Max was listening to the many pirate radio stations who were playing all the underground Old-Skool Dance Music. And was slowly contacting people in the industry. Max contacted Priority recording studios in Sheffield, luckily meeting with A.B.Cs Steve Singleton! He promptly put Max onto Lee Robinson (Rising High) who owned Steel City Recording Studios, and set about producing demos with Lees, Roland W-30 Sampler. Max then entered into partnership with Lee, because of not owning any recording equipment needed a outlet to produce the demos. In 1989 Max saved up enough and bought his first pro bit of kit, A Roland W-30 Sampler and a Tascam Porta 2, 4 Track and Set up a small bedroom recording studio at home. At this time a decision was made to start his own record label "Maximum Effect Productions", giving up a well paid career in the Steel Industry in the process!
