About Me

HIGHLIGHT DISTRIBUTION started back in 1997 mainly to distribute the independent CDs released at the time. There was no intention at all to start a label that releases records. Releasing records started by accident at the year of 2000 with the legendary argentinian band called FUN PEOPLE... That's how the label HIGHLIGHT SOUNDS started. The name HIGHLIGHT was inspired by an interview given by Dave Smalley from Dag Nasty/ Down By Law to the fanzine "Anti Matter" published in the 90's by Norm Arena. When asked how did the band get a contract with Epitaph so quick, Dave answered: "It was one of those HIGHLIGHT days..."
