About Me

Rock'n'roll revolution? The revolution of the new economy? Revolutionary rise and fall of the western democracy? No matter which one: the revolution is over - and it's time for karoshi.
Karoshi Lovers dives into the music scene with their debut album The Revolution Is Over. The album is melodic, theatrical and even rowdy aggregate where Ms. Stress' vocal harmonies meet Kid Karoshi's punk riffs and black humor connects with the dance rhythms. The ballads are dark and hypnotic with the feel of ash floating above the songs.
Karoshi Lovers was formed in the spring of 2007 when Ms. Stress (vocals, keyboards), Kid Karoshi (guitar, vocals) and Joy-R (drums) wanted to create a new concept to the overwhelming pop markets. Ms. Stress ran into the Japanese term "karoshi" by accident on the internet. The word means "sudden death from overwork". The trio arrived at the same conclusion that Karoshi sums up the western world around us: fast working life and death at a young age. The group's unique sound is the result of the trio line-up - sometimes less is more, like the old phrase says. On The Revolution Is Over album the profitability calculations go bananas and the twisted swing breaths life into the stories of the struggling characters of the karoshi world.
So far Karoshi Lovers has been compared to the artists such as 22-Pistepirkko, ABBA, Tori Amos, Animal Alpha, Fiona Apple, Aqua, Arcade Fire, The Ark, B-52's, Bauhaus, Pat Benatar, Björk, Frank Black, Block Party, Blonde Redhead, Blondie, Blur, Mark Bolan, Christian Death, Chumbawamba, The Church, The Cure, The Doors, Editors, Eläkeläiset, E-Type, Eurythmics, Garbage, Nina Hagen, Horrorpops, Rowland S. Howard, Jefferson Airplane, Joy Division, Killing Joke, Kostajat, Leevi And The Leavings, Lipps Inc., Lydia Lynch, Magyar Posse, Nylon 66'ers, Edith Piaf, Pixies, PJ Harvey, Sigur Ros, Patti Smith, Siouxsie And The Banshees, The Sounds, Stolen Babies, Tiger Army, T.Rex, Unun, Velvet Underground and White Stripes.
