"Schtimm has this rare gift among lo-fi bands that makes them stay under your skin, when theyve first found their way in." (VG - Norway's largest newspaper)

Schtimm is a Norwegian band originating from a small place called Saltdal, situated some kilometres north of the Arctic Circle.

The band has thus far released three albums and one Ep: "The Alcoholovefi collection" (2000) was presented as a compilation-album, "plays Mrakoslav Vragosh"(2002) a coveralbum, "Sun/Sun", a summer-EP (2002) and the third full-length, "featuring..." (2004), is an album containing contributions from various acts. Schtimm has also contributed on several compilation albums; among others Rolling Stone Magazines New Noises (2004) and We Are Hello (2001).

Schtimm's music is mostly described as rather low-voiced and fragile - with both acoustic and electronic elements ending up in a rather strange and gloomy, yet melodic indiepop soundscape. But the band also has an inclination towards sharper edges and louder darkness. Alcojazz/dunkel-pop/Northnorwegiana are genre-descriptions most frequently used by the band itself.

Schtimm has toured Norway, Denmark, Russia, Sweden, Germany and Switzerland several times, been playlisted on national radio and performed live on national TV in Norway and Germany.

At the end of 2002, Schtimm pulled off a relatively abnormal series of concerts in Norway: Concerts where the audience experienced the music solely through headphones. Doing concerts through headphones was meant to give the audience a close and different musical experience, and according to the audience and critics: It certainly did.
