Well lets talk about who I have met:
Stanley.... saved from ACC, of course.
Pebbles... who we saved, right BEFORE she was about to enter ACC.
SPIRIT!!!! Saved from nyc acc after being lucky enough to get "lost" in the system and avoid being killed:
Jenny, saved by her determined foster mom, has been a handful, but worth it:
May found a home:
Myspace and Diana saved this doggie, emma:
Slim was sad and depressed and seemed to be TWICE his age when I found him in his damp cage... he is finally in the country looking his age!
Mr Belvedere, also on the kill list, I just had to save. His owner died in a fire that he survived. He is currently waiting for his home:
Duke was used as bait in dog fighting, but remained sweet somehow (although we had to work on his manners). I never thought hed find a home, but he has, and he makes improvements every day.... he escaped death many times:
check out this great book:
"Max, The Shelter Dog" is a children's story about a misunderstood and playful pit bull who is surrendered by his owners to a shelter. The purpose of the book is to raise awareness of the importance of adoption from shelters, as well as the challenges faced by the beautiful American Pit Bull Terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier. When you purchase "Max, The Shelter Dog" a portion of the proceeds is donated to rescues and charities that help the plight of the pit bull, and all animals in need. The book is available for purchase through Target.com and AmazonThank you for supporting all the wonderful animals in need!http://www63.rockyou.com/show_my_gallery.php?instanceid
=43787416&refid=4378741615,000 DOMESTIC ANIMALS PER DAY, YES, YOU READ IT RIGHT, 15 THOUSAND DOGS AND CATS EACH DAY IN AMERICA ARE PUT DOWN. WHY? BECAUSE PEOPLE BUY PETS (WHO COME FROM ABUSIVE PUPPY MILLS, AND SO YOU SUPPORT THAT AS WELL WHEN YOU BUY). WHEN YOU WANT TO DROP OF YOUR DOG AT THE POUND BECAUSE HE/SHE IS TOO MUCH WORK, OR BUY A DOG, OR HAVE YOUR DOG PRODUCE PUPPIES, JUST REMEMBER THAT NUMBER. 15,000 A DAY. WHAT IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT? NOTHING. WILL THIS MYSPACE ACCT. HELP? PROBABLY NOT. SO GET DOWN TO YOUR SHELTER YOURSELF AND WALK DOGS, PET CATS, OR ADOPT. IF YOU CANT, THEN FOSTER!!!!! OR SIMPLY DONATE, SO THAT THOSE WHO CARE ENOUGH TO HELP CAN CONTINUE TO DO SO.

[email protected] do anything that you can to help! The animals desperately need homes, as well walking and comfort during their stay. If you can't take in an animal, you will be surprised at what a difference you can make just by getting to know them and their personalities. This way, you can speak to adopters about the animals, and greatly increase their chances of finding homes. You will be shocked at how loving, safe and beautiful these dogs/cats (and even bunnies!) are. They just need a chance... and a little bit of love. They will certainly do the same for you!
SPAY AND NEUTER--- there are too many unwanted animals dying every day, so dont allow more helpless animals to be born (and stop the BREEDING)!
