I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Miami, Adam Schlachter graduated from the American Film Institute with an M.F.A. in Film Directing, completed a Professional Certificate in Screenwriting from UCLA, and earned a B.F.A. in Film Production from Florida State University. A finalist in Esquire Magazine's Celluloid Style Film Competition for his film adaptation, "Father Figure", he recently finished an experimental short, "The Stain On The Sidewalk", and a promotional spot for Bud Light, "We Are All Latino". His debut feature, "The 7", played in the Cannes Film Market, was promoted at the Berlinale Talent Campus, and is available for distribution through Worldwide Film Entertainment. Adam has written and directed a dozen shorts, written seven feature screenplays, attended seven esteemed writing and producing labs, and is a member of the Writers Guild of America. This year, he plans to direct "Untitled Initiation Project", an improvised, "in the moment", dramatic feature. His thesis film, "My Backyard Was A Mountain", qualified and was shortlisted for the 2006 Academy Awards for Best Live Action Short, was last year's recipient of the Imagen Award for Best Short Film, won prestigious awards from Kodak and Panavision, has screened at over one hundred international film festivals, and is now available for download on iTunes.
