Music programming on KGNU
KGNU's music programming is more than half of its airtime. We are renowned as a purveyor of some of the most unusual and alternative music available today. Whether your taste runs to African Rai, Bluegrass, Latino Rap, Electronic Trance, opera, Navajo chants, or You-Name-it!, it's likely to be played on KGNU at some time or other.
To find some of the specialty shows on KGNU, check the list below by genre. To get an idea of what is currently hot in new releases, our Charts page is updated weekly with the most played music in various genres. There you can also find DJ favorites of the past years and much more. Our mission, as well as to entertain, is to give exposure to artists and musical styles that are under-represented on the commercial airwaves, (or missing altogether!).
