About Me

As I edge ever closer to my 4th decade on this wonderful planet, safe in the company and love of my beautiful wife Gunes and our unique and altogether entertaining daughter, Lara Maria, I often ponder on the road that brought me to this place. From the chaos of adolescence; the mountains of learning and experience that have been scaled and the cruise into what some may describe as middle age, I basically find myself as I always have, and in my mind's eye, certainly no different to the child I once was. This is now reinforced as I look into Lara's young eyes and view her thirst for knowledge and appetite for life. What a jolly marvelous thing! I truly consider myself to be lucky to have arrived at this location - a home that exists at the very centre of my heart, and the privilege to share this space with some of the most wonderful and inspiring people I could ever have wished to become acquainted with. As ever, each day is a journey and one that I relish with all my being.

As you will probably be able to guess from the photo's of me hiding behind an array of bass guitars, this is one of my main past-times (as well as current times). I have played various styles from prog to funk, ska to jazz and from back room bar (where you can see the whites of the audience's eyes) to big, scary stages (where the audience could be a million miles away and invariably are). I was a founder member of Angstrom, Cambridge's premier psychedelic/prog hedonistas; a one time member of The Enid (along with 1000's of others) for 3 years and have depped a few times for Katrina & The Waves and the band that set me on this journey, The Southside Blues Band. I even managed to get a modicum of airplay on Radio 2 recently courtesy of the ever talented and uniquely gorgeous Joanna Eden. Presently I help lay down the grooves for funksters Capricorn, as well as play with The PPS Band (together with it's incarnation as The Essex Pink Floyd), and once a year enjoy a good po-going with Ska'n'B merchants, Chu Nah Mi. I have even played in a circus, but had to run away to become a Chartered Surveyor, which is pretty much the same kind of thing.

To find out more (or less), and to quote the words of the late, great and wholeheartedly inimitable Terry-Thomas "slice away old fruit" - I therefore invite you to dissect and interrogate my inner being for you to find out all about me if you so desire.
