About Me

CURRICULUM SEMIVITAE: Living abroad for an extended period of my life has given me a different perspective of life and appreciation for what this country has to offer. The GOTHIC EBM NEW WAVE/ROMANTIC scene is a part of my concious life. I began Djing at an early age, 14, at Bond International in NYC following years later Mission club and some parties, but my serious djing "run" was in Europe. Owning and managing clubs like The Krypt, Kiev, Clorum.. gave me the tools to freely express myself and be CREATIVE. I have dj'd and visited many festivals and clubs over the past 25 years...

UPCOMING EVENTS:

SOME INTERESTING FESTIVALS:

* Weather: Extremely early sunrise, Intense showers/flooding, High Temps acc. season
A FEW CLUBS:
..and others around Europe. The list is endless. Many I can't recall and others have ceased to exist. Clubzeitseeing is the BEST!. Needless to say, Music followed closely by Arts are my passion.
On the creative side, I design clothes and jewelry.. when there's spare time.
I believe in a special kind of spirituality, hard to explain with mere words..but not impossible. Current events are open to discussion, of course, with moderation and respect to the adverse opinion.

Music:

ALMOST THREE DECADES OF FAV. SOUNDS......The New Wave/Romantic movement emerged in the UK in the early 80s as a direct backlash against the austerity of the Punk scene. At various times it became a catch-all term for quite disparate bands working within the pop world. Where Punk railed against life, the New Romantics celebrated glamour, primping and covering with ostentatious clothes. Hedonism was at its peak...

The use of video as a promotional tool was important to the development of the New Wave/Romantic movement as were the creative haircuts, the puffy shirts and the fact that men could be seen wearing mascara. Guitars, though present, were subordinate to synthesizers...

The early years..

...The term "Gothic" for music was hovering around in 1979, and there were signs of an emerging musical movement by early 1981, when Abbo from UKDecay inadvertently tagged it "gothic", but goth as an identifiable movement in terms of both music and fashion didn't really appear till 1982. In July of that same year, Batcave opened: not only was this a major rallying-point for the London scene, but it attracted a lot of media attention, which in turn spread the idea of a new subculture around the UK. In the wake of the Batcave, similar clubs opened around the country, and the Batcave itself went "on tour", giving goths outside London somewhere to gather...

The early 80s were the most original moments of EBM. Although constantly overshadowed by DM and other acts, EBM sound grew in strength and eventually gathered its own followers. Front 242 led the movement, influencing and creating a whole new era and school of Electronics: Frontline Assembly, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, Nitzer Ebb.
