About Club80s.com
In the beginning, Michael Jackson moon walked, Madonna considered her virginity, and Tiffany shopped. This made a lot of Europeans very angry so they returned to their punk roots, fusing electronica with a lot of built up angst. New Wave was born.
Club 80s celebrates the birth of New Wave and classic alternative by spinning dance remixes from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and today. Our future here is so bright, well, we just gotta wear shades. So grab your leg warmers and everybody dance now!!!

The HISTORY
Club 80s Internet Radio was born on October 17th, 2000 in Santa Cruz, CA. Lex de Azevedo II, a.k.a. DJ Lex, Father of Club 80's, grew up in Southern California during the 80s listening to a station called KROQ 106.7.
KROQ was the cutting edge modern rock station playing groups like Depeche Mode, The Cure, Oingo Boingo, and Siouxsie And The Banshees. This heavily influenced his musical tastes... and music collection.
"I remember going to a store called 'Licorice Pizza' on Ventura Blvd. and buying my first records: a stack of Oingo Boingo LPs. I use to trace the artwork of the picture sleeves to make T-Shirts in my junior high graphics class."
Lex has been collecting vinyl ever since. In 1998 he realized that vinyl was becoming extinct and started recording his collection to CD. In 2000, he came across a website called Live365 that allowed people to make their own internet radio stations.
"I've been doing radio shows for years, but Live365 gave me the opportunity to have my own station. I knew there were other 80s stations out there, but no one had a station of 80s vinyl mixes and remixes. It seemed like a unique idea."
The rest is history. The Club 80s audience continues to grow. The playlist continues to expand as new mixes are discovered and re-released.
The Club 80s playlist is extremely unique. We've all heard the same 80s songs for the last 25 years. The extended or remixed version gives you a different take on a song, but it still retains its familiarity. In contrast, you may hear songs that are unfamiliar. Don't tune out! Take the opportunity to explore music that you may have missed the first time around.
